EYBL: A&M Target Recap

Derrick Griffin

News and Notes on A&M targets in the Nike EYBL Tournament over the weekend in Frisco.

    • Well i like the sound of Griffin being "100% committed" and it is always nice when other programs aren't scared away by the grades. To think of TJ, Griffin, Gibson, Quiv, Quincy, and possibly Samples and LaRue being able to hit the field at the same time as TWill and White could be a scary offensive weapon, not to mention anyone else we get.

Sorry, I am looking forward to basketball too and hope we can keep the recruiting going there so Kennedy can show what he's got.

    • Thanks Aubrey. I was hoping that Nunn might still be considering us. Oh well...

    • SMU is SMU but they have one helluva staff and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see some of these kids land there.

Maligi and Howard are beasts on the recruiting trail.

    • when do you finally clean out the closet and quit listing the players whom are no longer present or part of our future. it's so tiring and repetetive to see last years roster with every new inquiry. one would think cleaning house since we changed conferences, coaches, and 50% of our squad you'd want to tout the future not relive the past. the reputation the aggies have for being a bit slow is still stands.

    • he a football player first and a darn good one. if he is as good as they say he'll never hold a basketball in a gym in a uniform. he has NFL potential. if he plays basketball good. if he doesn't that's okay too.
he is our best football recruit bare none.

    • I'm not real sure Kennedy has anything to show anybody. Mind you I respect and like him but have my doubts for obvious reasons. A really great coach will never resort to the available excuses around him. Kennedy leaned on them all. These are published facts not my opinion.

I feel bad he has a debilitating disease which gets progressively worse with time. and his time is most finite. it's like we are snake bit at the helm concerning men's basketball. Kennedy cannot match other schools for these big time recruits so we will always be an also ran with an occasional on year offset by the often off year until his tenure is up and then we spin the wheel of carnival coach selection once again. at best Kennedy will be a 55% winner, more likely less than that.

anybody who will come play for us. it's like trying to refloat the Titanic. if she can resurface, perhaps past glories will win over. this is like playing a roulette wheel at Las Vegas. we got lucky on some signatures once the men jumped ship whom got chicken or smart. let's hope they play great and we have tremendous 2012 - 2013 season to lure some legit one and done. but Kennedy would never sign one of those guys. he's so old school every recruit has to "buy into his system". that's a load of ___p right there. "it's my way or the highway" is so 1970's, 1980's stuff. these kids weren't born then and want instant everything. whole deal is an oximoron and the top brass act like they have blinders on. vagas will never post us good odds for sane and stable reasons. having Kennedy as a coach does not strike fear in oppoents nor make any one tremble with a future encounter scheduled. he's a great guy whom is probably an average coach.

Goodness gracious dude, It's fine to have whatever opinion you choose to hang onto but you don't need to put all down in print & certainly not for the general public. You come across as being a bit jaded to the process.

We just signed a great class & we have some of the best in state & national recruiters on staff. I was optimistic 'till I read your posts. I would have responded sooner but I had to talk myself back in from my window ledge. Thank goodness my house is only 1 story.

I concur I did go over the top and props to Kennedy and his staff for pulling a recruiting miracle out of what were dismal circumstances when I originally posted.
