Arlington (Texas) Martin five-star defensive end Myles Garrett had planned to announce this Saturday but he decided to do it a day early in front of teammates at his school.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound defender, ranked as the No. 9 overall prospect in the country, had been expected to choose Texas A&M over the likes of Alabama, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas.
On Friday morning, he confirmed that was indeed his intention.
"I committed to Texas A&M," Garrett said succinctly.
The pledge gives the Aggies 15 commits with Garrett being the second five-star in addition to Scottsdale (Texas) Desert Mountain quarterback Kyle Allen.
