Its just weird...
If and when I have kids and if they are ever good enough to obtain D1 scholarships from the likes of Texas A&M University and the sorts... there would be no discussion. My son would have to go to the Aggies unless there was a coach there by the name of Coach Fran.
I was not a Sherman fan but my kid would be there. With Sumlin - my kid would be there. There is only one other school my kid could consider and that is Alabama but I would highly and I mean highly encourage A&M above that other school.

Aggies are not bad parents who nag their teeangers (who already hate their guts) into what school they should go to. They would like for them to go to A&M but they also understand their kids want to go down a different pathway. And if they force them to go to A&M and they don't like it then they will most likely rarely hear from their kids again.

at some point in a parent's life you have got to let your child live his/her life and make their own decisions. If they go to your college, then your the proudest parent in the world, but if they choose to go OOS or to another in-state school, then all you can do is hope they have as much fun as you did while you were in college.

I totally understand that. By the time they're 18 they should be able to make decisions like that. My point is that if they grow up loving A&M since before they can remember, odds are they won't even be making a decision. A&M is a great school, so it's not like we're brainwashing them into going to a bad school

with all the games we've watched together on tv as well as all the games and tailgates we've been to together.. and me wearing A&M gear and buying him A&M gear his whole life, my oldest son obviously loves A&M and wants to go there, but if he ends up being bright enough or talented enough for a full ride scholarship offer to somewhere like Stanford, I'd probably try to talk him out of A&M, honestly.
