National Signing Day is on Wednesday. It has always been a time of year that Aggie fans looked forward to but, since the move to the SEC and the arrival of head coach Kevin Sumlin, it is an even bigger deal than ever.
Heading into the remaining 24 hours or so until NSD, Texas A&M currently sits No. 3 in the 247Sports Composite, trailing only Alabama and Ohio State.
Last year’s signing day saw Aggie fans keeping tabs on quite a few prospects’ announcements with the likes of Daeshon Hall choosing A&M while Torrodney Prevot signed with Oregon. While this year may not quite have as much drama, there will still be plenty to watch on Wednesday.

Here is what we will have in store for you on Wednesday:
JUST THE FAX
Members of Texas A&M’s Class of 2014 will begin faxing in signed National Letters Of Intent early Wednesday morning. Prospects may start sending them at 7 a.m. local time. With no expected signees from the Eastern time zone, things will likely kick off just after 7 a.m. central. We will update users as those come in and seal each prospect’s commitment to the Aggies.
*Text Messages: Our premium alert service will send out messages when we confirm faxes are received at the Bright Complex. They tend to arrive in bunches so the texts will reflect that. Not signed up for our premium alert service? Go to your account at the top right of the page, hit 'My Account' in the drop down; then click on the 'Alerts' link and follow the directions from there.
*Junction Message Board: Camping out on our premium board is also an easy way to stay informed. We will have a thread constantly updated and monitored by our staff to give you the latest.
DOING THE HAT DANCE(S)
The Aggies have three primary targets that will be announcing their intentions on Wednesday. Here are the details for each.
S MATTRELL MCGRAW, River Ridge (La.) John Curtis, 9:38 a.m. Central, ESPNU
The Louisiana safety is down to a final two of A&M and Oregon. He will make his selection live on ESPNU between the two schools. It would be considered a bit of an upset if he chooses the Aggies.
OL BRADEN SMITH, Olathe (Kan.) South, 10:20 a.m. Central, ESPNU
The Under Armour All-American has long had A&M and TCU in his top group but Auburn is a relative newcomer. Now, it is down to those three. He is fresh off an official visit to TCU this past weekend but nobody is too sure where he will end up. There is cautious optimism at all three schools with Auburn gaining a bit of momentum as of late on his Crystal Ball.
LB KENNY YOUNG, River Ridge (La.) John Curtis, 9:45 a.m. Central, ESPNU
Along with teammate McGraw, Young will also be announcing live on ESPNU. The four main schools remaining in the hunt are A&M, Arkansas, LSU and UCLA. He has played things incredibly close to the vest so, honestly, none of the four schools would be too big a surprise.
While most of Texas A&M’s 22 current commitments are solid and will sign with the Aggies without any drama, there are a few worth watching.
Austin (Texas) Lake Travis running back Varshaun Nixon committed to the Aggies over a year ago but took a last-minute official visit to TCU this past weekend. Many now expect him to sign with the Horned Frogs on Wednesday.
UPDATE: Nixon has now officially switched his pledge to TCU.
Richmond (Texas) Travis cornerback and Army All-American Nick Harvey has also been a longtime A&M commit. There were rumors of him looking around a bit, which he shot down. However, he then took an official visit to Texas two weekends ago. Though he likely signs with the Aggies, the situation bears watching.
ALREADY ON BOARD
Though they could not sign true letters-of-intent, seven members of the class of 2014 are already enrolled at A&M and attending classes. They include three junior college prospects, three high school early graduates and a greyshirted member of the 2013 class.
QB KYLE ALLEN, Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain
OL JERMAINE ELUEMUNOR, Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna C.C.
OL AVERY GENNESY, Scooba (Miss.) East Mississippi C.C.
OL J.J. GUSTAFSON, Dallas (Texas) Jesuit
DT ZAYCOVEN HENDERSON, Longview, Texas
