2012 starting QB

Gotta ask it. Who would you rather have as our starting QB next year? Showers or Manziel? Or would you take Joekel or Davis?
I like Showers and his cannon of an arm but I am going to have to say Manziel. He is a great athlete and competitor. I just see him being a winner.

You never know man. Showers is only 1 year older and has better arm strength (a trait which can be over rated at times). And they are both in a new system. It is not locked up by any means.

I don't think I've ever said it wouldn't be Showers. He's certainly the odds on favorite. As I've said all along, I think the only way Manziel could jump him in practice would be to just go crazy during one of the scrimmages.
Showers is just too good of a practice quarterback. I still think Manziel's best chance is to come in during a game (Maybe Showers struggles, gets banged up, who knows) and just be so good that they can't take him back out. I just don't know that he practices well enough to ever pass Showers on the practice field.

Manziel will never be a good practice QB.
He is at his best when plays break down. That's not something that you get to see very often in normal practice scenarios.

Every qb looks pretty bad compared to the older guys when they first get here. Johnny looked terrible his first few weeks. They pick it up really fast from there though
