ESiPN is not reporting ALL of what is happening and what is being said. Look no further than the omission of several ACC presidents going public (pubic for any sips that might be reading) saying how there is "no" 3rd tier network future in the Big12. They have also stated that there is a reason 4 teams have recently departed the conference. Granted NONE of this info has been reported by the worldwide leader. You've gotta find closet bloggers and local beat writers to get this side of the story. Of course ESiPN has an agenda and the Big 12 survival is at the top of the list. Call it pride, call it honor, or call it the LHN, yet it's an agenda to say the least.
What is not being discussed is the possibility of an ACC network. I can't believe no one is really talking about this! The Big 10 has a network, the Pac 12 is launching one, and the SEC is developing one! That is the future of college athletics... The ACC is the only conference remaining that could possibly follow suit. Sure FSU, Clemson or Miami could jump to the Big 12 yet they better get a damn good deal because they will lose ANY hope to ever be getting a conference network check....
Maybe i'm looking at it wrong yet i see more of a future for these teams in the ACC. With that said, butthurt can cause people to do crazy things...

The ACC sold the rights to all of their programming to ESPN. They don't have any inventory left to create a network.
Unfortunately this is their problem. They sold their rights, from what I can tell, and thus have no chance at a conference network. They are stuck between no conference network and slightly more money where you can create your own-even though the lhn is showing the impracticality of it (but are getting paid nicely).
