Aggies playing for the 'ship

So Ags, with tonight being A&M's first national title game in a true team sport since... (?) I know some of you guys have plans.
We were talking about this the other day, and whether people realize it or not, women's basketball has to be the NCAA's biggest sport behind football and men's basketball.
The Aggies have certainly been getting a lot of pub out of the deal.

I admittedly never got into women's basketball before this year. Bad ag? Perhaps. But I will definitely support them in the coming seasons since I have found a new excitement for it.. never thought if be so pumped for them as I am tonight!

They had a nice 5 minutes segment on the game tonight. Gary Blair and Danielle Adams got a lot of face time. Not to mention the countless commercials... Yeah I would say that is a lot of good pub.
Between the women's run, Von's very lofty draft status, and even the A&M being offered Peterson for $80,000, I cannot remember the last time that Texas A&M was mentioned as frequently as they have been over a 2 week period.

I am right there with ya. Crazy thing is, from everything I have heard, A&M should be just as good if not better next year.

A&M seems to be considered the underdog again tonight. I like that though, they have been the underdog the past two games and have thrived under it. Should be a lot of ND fans with it being in Indianapolis, but I think there will be a strong contingent of Ags up there too.
Danielle Adams hasn't been able to do much in the past two games, as both Baylor and Stanford have outstanding bigs. I think Adams and Gilbert should be able to have great games tonight. Also, Danielle has shot 5 for 29 (.172) behind the arc during the tourney after going 20 for 57 (.351) during conference play.
Skylar Diggins has been pretty phemonenal during the tourney though. Hopefully Blair has something special up his sleeve for guarding her.

That is a true team sport. It is not even close to as "big" as the women's NCAA tourney though in terms of mass popularity and media coverage.

It would be a big win for recruiting. Blair is on two Texas girls ranked in the top 5 for 2012 and maybe the best prospect ever to come out of the state in a couple years.
Texas is rich in girls basketball recruits. It wouldn't hurt to show them they don't have to go to UCONN, Tenn or Stanford to win a NC.

what's the over/under on the ladies combining for more points than the men did ea half in their game?
never been so excited about a women's basketball game. Blair is a great coach & recruiter & deserves this one. GIG'EM Lady Ags!

yes because teams doubling her everytime down the court has nothing to do with that
and AA's are decided on games in the tourney

I specified that I have only watched three games. Obviously I get that she must be better than she has shown. Double teams are not the problem, she seems to get down on herself way too easy when things don't go her way and then starts to press.
True all-americans are decided in the biggest games though, and she has not stepped up.

Women's basketball is such a beatdown. There have been 4, maybe 5, field goals made that weren't layups.
How hard is it to figure out that you should pack your entire defense in the lane to defend that?

Eh I wouldnt go as far to say that's all there doing. Recently yes but this is the kind of game this is turning into. A physical back and forth game...
