I was just curious how many you had.
We were a field goal kicker away from erasing much of all that elite talk stuff. Ole miss and A&M are creeping up on Les. His offense and QB are bad. He got bailed out by bad PI calls and some circus catches against A&M last year.

My, bad I thought you were saying that our defense will be bad/terrible because of all the losses... I misundertood
And I understand ya'll were a few plays away from having an elite season... LSU was also a few plays away from being undefeated (and possibly back-to-back Champs if OKST doesnt miss a FG last year!)... every fanbase can play that game.
What you do not udnerstand is that it will take more than 1 good/great season for the A&M program to be considered elite. It's a lot easier to sneak up on everyone with a relatively unknown coach & QB, and win 10+ games... it's another thing to do it again, and again, and again... which is what LSU has done in the past 10 years, Bama has done in the past 5 years, Miami & Florida State did in the 90's, etc. To be truly elite, you have to get on top, and then stay on top when every team you play gives 110% to beat you... that's when you are elite.
Like I've stated many times, A&M wil probably get there soon, but 1 or 2 good seasons will not prove your "eliteness" in college football. Let's talk again in 5 years when Johnny is long gone and see how many Titles you have... then you can consider your program part of the "elite" (no knock on A&M at all... it just takes time to become a college football fixture, not 1 or 2 seasons).

Last I checked, two championships in the last 10 years. Oh, I get it, you're trying to count back to 1958 (BTW, that's 55 years...not 45).
So, when was the last national championship for A&M? 1939? That's, what, 74 years?
How about the last conference championship? 1998? That's, what, 15 years?
Cool deal.
