My POV is that you do need to confront this guy in a professional, non-emotional way. Lay out the facts; be clear as to how and why you feel that the situation has played out the way it has and why you feel it is unacceptable and ask him to help you understand how he believes it is appropriate or fair for him to get the bonus after you've done the work. Just my thoughts.

I'd be really careful about doing this too early on.

It depends on your circumstance, but you're the new guy and everyone currently considers you a peion. I wouldn't rattle the cage too much too soon. Prove yourself first, gain some trust, and then start making waves.

I was just trying to better understand your point. And yes, I've worked for a Fortune 500 Company for the past 16yrs as a matter of fact in a management role. Thanks though.

Daddy, while you're being a bit of a jackass, you are definitely right in that people will do whatever they can for the dollar. I need to be less trusting of coworkers. Being at A&M for 5 years and then spending a year teaching/coaching at a Christian school probably made me too trusting of people.

But hey, it's my first two weeks in the corporate world. I lived, I learned, I'll adjust. I've been busting my tail these past few weeks, and I'll continue to do so. I will get mine. I'm not concerned about "finding dinner".
