Stayed on San Pedro off the Belize barrier reef. It was a study abroad a few years ago so we stayed at an educational place (TREC) but they have an awesome catamaran boat to take you snorkeling and stuff but I think it's just for educational trips. Had a lot of beach BBQ's that are fun, scuba diving is amazing. If you go snorkeling they have a marine protected area (Hol Chan I think is one we went to) you can see some monster grouper, tarpon, sea turtles, all that cool stuff.
Anyway, enjoy, and the best part, give them a dollar for a beer and they give you a Belize dollar back for another, it's like two for one if the exchange rate is still two to one. Just don't let them screw you over when they give you change in belize dollars when you pay with US dollars
stayed at the Victoria House for 8 Days for a wedding. that place is by FAR one of the best overall vacation spots i have been to. its laid back, really nice. good locals and great food. enjoy.
From what I've read Victoria House seems to be a great place. The food is important (to me at least). Last trip we took was to an all inclusive, and while the free (watered down) drinks were nice, the food was horrible. I'm a little older, so I don't need to get bombed, I'd rather enjoy the food and amenities.
