Time for your New Year's predictions!
Feel free to be bold with your predictions, but just for fun, let's look into the future.
1) We beat OU ... with the run game. I think Manziel has 130 yards rushing and Michael has a big game despite coming off the bench.
2) Our defense will be bad next year. I don't mean terrible, but it will be a 'work in progress'. We lose 5 of our 7 front guys and Harris. It will be a challenge to replace them.
3) We'll see a lot of true freshmen next year. Obviously we have a great class poised to sign. I think a lot of raw talent will be out there next year. I bet some of them will be good, but freshmen are still freshmen.
4) Manziel will be worse next year. I don't mean to be negative here, but I foresee our Oline being an issue. I'm happy our linemen backups have gotten a lot of practice this year in blowouts, but none of them have really impressed me. Matthews at center should replace Lewis, but our tackles will be an issue. Manziel has been brilliant at avoiding pressure, but it will be different next year if defensive lines have a clear shot at him.
5) We go 7-6 next year with a win in the bowl that Vandy was in. We will show flashes of greatness, but we just won't be able to seal the big games.
6) I think 2014 will be much, much better.
7) Billy Kennedy retires from coaching at the season's end. He will claim health issues.
8) The new Kyle Field plans will make most of Aggieland very happy. But there will be a very vocal minority that won't be happy.
9) In the off season the SEC goes up to 16 teams. I hope it will be NC State and Virginia Tech, but if the ACC falls apart it might be Duke and North Carolina. Either way, I bet it will end now. The B1G follows suit and adds Georgia Tech and Virginia.
10) Bertolet will hit 85% of his kicks. He won't be perfect, but he will be a much improved weapon for us next year.
Manziel will be more consistent in the passing game, especially from the pocket.
B. Alexander joins the duo of future 1st round WDE that A&M has produced.
B. Williams gives the A&M run game an upgraded version of a speed/power back.
J. Williams and T. Stevens (yes I'm already counting him) force the opposing S to stay deep with their take the top off speed
I think the youth at DT and LB end up costing the Ags against power run games.
F that.....14-0! Bama at home and the Ags master the LSU Tigers D and run game. Rematch with UF goes A&M's way against a crappy Gator O, and then A&M beats tOSU by 14 in the MNC.
It's the New Year, how the hell can we go 7-6? I see you're a sad drunk and not a happy drunk, or just really hungover from last night.
Did you have to fall on the grenade last night? be honest?
7-5??? Have you seen the schedule? No way we to worse than 9-3. Our 4th hardest game is either at Arkansas or home versus Vandy...anything less than 9-3 is a meltdown.
Keep Jake, move Ced to OT, someone will emerge at OG (I'm betting Compton). Done.
Front 7 will be worse, but not bad. Plug in Sanders and Baggs at LB.
Lots of competition for the second DE and DT spots.
Floyd Raven at FS
Devante Harris becomes a full time starter at CB.
WR will be plug and play for the most part (minus Swope's toughness). Blocking will be what to watch for.
Well, I might have had one or two ... It was a pretty good night.
And I had to be at work this morning at 7, so that might explain my general pessimism this morning.
Please tell me which 6 of the following games we will lose

Good lord, for a prediction thread, I'm apparently the only one making predictions. Quit nit-picking folks and join in the fun.
Or is everyone else scared of a few downvotes?
Easy wins: Our OOC games.
Losses: Alabama and LSU because of the power running games. I'm skeptical about the rest of the SEC schedule. Vanderbilt is showing some backbone and they will be aiming for us. Mizzou had injuries this year, but should be back to full strength. Arkansas and Auburn had a lot of talent on their teams, but they lacked a coach.
And let me remind you ... these are just predictions. I'm not saying this is a lock in any way, but if we struggle on defense waiting for our youngsters to mature, this could be a really long year.
We've also been blessed this year with very few injuries. We were really, really thin at a lot of positions. With our recruiting, we will get better, but until they get some experience, we will likely still be one injury away from loosing several games.
I can't find the link right now, but didn't we only play 17 defenders total against LSU? To me that says the coaches don't have a lot of faith in their backups ... backups who are now starters.
I think BAS and alcohol must not mix well. I say we go 11-1 and split the Bama/LSU games. We still find ourselves in the SEC Championship and we defeat Florida. I haven't done my other conference predictions, so I don't know if we get to the NC or not.
I think Manziel's rushing numbers will be less, but he'll still have a large YPC. He'll do more work from the pocket, but will still take off when he has to. He should be less than 1,000 rushing, but approach 4,000 passing.
Malena will still be a solid back. He's the guy the team will rely on when they need the job done. Whether in the blocking, screen, or run game. He will still be a big role.
The Williams Duo will be home run hitters. They'll bust big plays all over the place while Malena will be guy who will get you the yards you need when you really need them. Tra Carson will be an unstoppable force in short yardage. He will be a great asset.
Matthews stays and slides to LT. There are plenty of quality players waiting in the wings to step in at G or T depending on what Ogbuehi does. The OL will not be an issue. They won't be the best in the country, but they will be a good group.
The WR corps will be young, but really, really talented! It will be very diverse. You'll have big physical guys (Evans, RSJ) speedy slots (Kennedy, Sabo, Tabuyo, Quiv, CE-L) Speed/Size combo guys (Walker, Jaquay, Parker) Tall, fast, thin guys (Stevens, Quincy, Pope). DBs will be outmatched due to solely to the fact that we have so many different talented guys we can trot out there. Add that to the fact that they'll usually be stuck on an island due to the number of guys in the box needed to stop Johnny and the run game. I think you'll see more open WRs this year, and Johnny will find these guys more often due to experience.
On the DL, I think Alexander steps up and has a solid year. Not near Damontre, but a good year. He and Obioha will generate enough pressure to keep QB's honest. An improved secondary will help mask the young DL. Ennis will have a really good year, and will benefit from having depth from the 3 fish DTs. The LBs will be solid due to a lot of talent coming in and providing depth. There will be at least 2 guys step up to starting quality. Jenkins will have a big year. Overall, the front 7 may not be quite as good, but Snyder will have this group solid and ready to go.
Most of the DB's will have another year under their belt. Matthews will be back at SS, and we'll see either someone step up for the FS role or Deshazor moves there permanently. We have enough talent and depth at corner to allow him to, but hopefully someone will step up for the FS job. This group won't be as much of a liability as it has been, and I once again think this will be a solid bunch. Overall, the defense will be solid. Not great, but enough to get the job done. As unstoppable as the offense could be, that's all we may need.

I predict that lmart will actually make love to a Tony Brown highlight video.
EarlRuBBer will gig so hard that doctors will recommend he lighten his gigging load but he simply can't, he'd rather die.
Shermanager and Chip will finally find each other at a bar.
Daddy will shed a single tear watching that clip of Derrick Griffin leveling a defender on signing day.
Carson will fight a female LSU fan on that Thursday Night baseball game of the week at Blue Bell Park.
Hugh Honey will be found dead on the side of the road because of a multi-car pileup that he caused watching '07 Aggie Basketball highlight videos on loop. The tears filled his eyes and he couldn't see that barrier coming. Ironically, Phil Cantone will also be involved in the accident.
I'll actually cook one of DMO's recipes.
mmmvegas and I will share a cold beer at the chicken and talk about the 'good ole days of Aggie Basketball and debate whether this year's team could beat Bishop Gorman high school.

I've given my reasons in the thread. Good lord, you people are acting like I'm an ESPN analist that just said it's the end of the world for A&M.
But maybe you are right, I revise my prediction to 150-0. We won't lose a game for the next 10 years. We could trot out our walk-ons and win every game.
A&M was essentially injury-free this year. In the coming year we lose a lot of seniors, probably three amazing juniors and we'll be relying on a lot of fish.
Our back-ups weren't exactly world beaters in their garbage time play. Just rewatch our second half of Sam Houston State for a clue.
We need a lot of talent. but more importantly, we need them to be SEC ready. I have some issues with predicting dominance based on recruits who haven't actually signed on yet ... much less put on a jersey and played a single down in the best conference in the country.
Good lord, when did this become the Zoo?
My prediction: We make a BCS bowl next season, maybe even the Natty. Got to stay positive boys.
Now we're talkin'!
And you're good, Rob. Great idea for a thread.
There will be 2 teams on our schedule next year that have better talent than us even with who we're losing.
People aren't piling on you because they're unrealistic, they're piling on because you are.
CAM!! How could I forget about CAM!!
I predict that Cameron will make it through 2013 without a 24 hour language ban. Bold prediction, but I believe this is the year.
We would win more than 7 games if Manziel went down in the first game for the season.
One of you guys need to predict the new OC, then I will be impressed.
There's no chance of that.
6-6 with that schedule? Are you high?
While I did not agree with your OP either, can't say I understand all the down votes. You gave your POV and supported it with why. I'm ok with that sort of post when it isn't just negative for the sake of it. Oh well.
BTW, my prediction is 9-3.
Thanks, I hit 14 downvotes in 4 hours. Does anyone keep records on downvote speed?
I tried to spell out exactly why I think the challenges this off season would be extremely difficult to overcome, but I really hope this recruiting class gets in shape during their last semester of high school.
These kids might be in great high school shape, but they will only have a couple of months with the Strength and Conditioning department to get ready for fall practice.
I really think they will explode after next off season with Larry Jackson, but that's not going to help us much this year.
I got a really "shitty" one that incorporates coffee and red bull. You down or want?
...who the heck seriously knows except God, and Sumlin. ~ Aggiemom6
It's better to remain silent and let them wonder...wow.
I predict we start next year ranked number 5, behind Bama, Florida, Oregon, Ohio State
Your logic is boggling my mind
11-1. I don't see us beating Bama. I think we blow out LSwho on the road though.
Disagree. Bama loses a lot on defense and most of their oline. Death Valley late in the season will be tough.
Death valley? We don't play Clemson next yr. Ha
Ya we'll match up with Bama a lot better next yr.
