Taylor/Aubrey, feel free to pin this so you don't have to repeated answer the same question or reference The Pulse.
I've been following this quite closely like some of you, but if you haven't here is a comprehensive breakdown of where we stand. Here's who we have committed:
Stewart - MLB risk
Griffin - Grade risk
JaQuay - Midtermer
Clear - Midtermer
Bullfrog - Midtermer
Points - Midtermer
Chevis - Midtermer
Wade - Midtermer
Sanders - Midtermer
Sezar - Midtermer
That gives us a grand total of 31 commits. It's easier to think of in terms of 2 classes: 2012 (midtermers) and 2013. Refer to the listing above for midtermers vs non-midtermers.
Midtermers count toward 2012, while others count toward 2013. The risk guys count toward 2013 but may not be signed. Let's break down 2012 first.
The 2012 class (last year's class) featured 19 signees. However, 4 of these were midterms (and counted toward 2011) and 1 did not qualify. Now I'm not completely sure if we get that 1 back for Ed Ray but let's say no for now. That means 15 have already signed for the 2012 class.
25 - 15 = 10 available scholarships for 2012.
Of our current commits, 8 are midtermers. Midtermers have all signed. We are no longer recruiting any others.
2013 is much more simple. You can only sign 25. That's a hard cap limit.
31 - 8 = 23 current commits.
25 - 23 = 2 available ships.
If you factor in risks as non-commits, that will give us a few more available ships. There is a good chance the staff doesn't sign some of these guys, or any of them. I'd assume they'd at least sign one of Kohl/Kenny but we'll see how that plays out.
2 + 2 risks = 4 available ships.
We are recruiting the following guys for 2013:
Ultimately I think we use the scholarships as so:
1) We'll spend one on Kohl
I do think we could pass on Larue for a sure fire take.

Win we shall, yes we can, yes we will.
Off topic but you should do a good, bad, and ugly for the weekend
I haven't watched enough football this weekend. I've been putting off Christmas shipping and missed most of the SEC championship because of it. I've though about doing a nationwide one each week but never did. Maybe next season ;)
I hope the QB goes play MLB so we can grab another WR or LB.
Can you please use full names and not nicknames made up by Internet posters that haven't met the kids. The people most likely to read this for clarity are the ones who will not understand names like scissor hands.

You've thoroughly answered a question I had in an earlier thread. This is clearly a HIGHLY FAVORABLE numbers game for the Aggies. Love the Edward Williams nickname by the way (LMFAO)

I'm pretty sure Ed Ray counts. The 25 limit each year is how many signed a NLI. Whether they make it on campus or not doesn't matter. He doesn't count against the 85 limit, of course.
The true test of a man's intelligence is how much he agrees with you.
I don't think the coaches are counting on Victor Davis or Griffin being here. You can't waste an offer on Griffin to stay in his good graces for 2 years when he finishes JUCO. Not when you'd have to give up on Savage, Manning, Sanders or some other stud.
I would think Sumlin will have a somber talk with Stewart to gauge his interest in college. He would love to have another 2013 spot available.
Huggins will make it in.
I say that leaves us with 3 spot--4 if Kohl announces he's going pro in Feb and doesn't wait til the draft in June (by then it's too late).
My boy Ebe's on that Sunday grind!

PS - Can you change RSJ to Pretty Ricky?
How in the world is anyone getting more than 28 is beyond me? You guys going for 40 this year?
Great post. Isn't JaQuay a mid-termer too?
Scissor hands and Bullfrog are both terrible nicknames.
Otherwise, great breakdown and appreciate the time put in making it.
Great post ebo. One of the better breakdowns I've seen here. Thanks for writing it grammatically correct and for using proper sentence structure and punctuation.
Because we only have 14-15 guys counting for 2012. Plenty of room for that class. Plus 25 for 2013.
