Credit Hugh for finding this tweet.
@catorano: “@Coast2CoastHoop: Providence and TCU will watch 2013 Berkner (TX) guard Kendal Yancy-Harris tomorrow.” #AggieHoops
He's former OSU guard Terrell Harris' brother.
Thanks for sharing, hopefully Kennedy can get us back on track.
SEC SEC SEC!!!
Wanted this kid before he committed to USC. Hope we can reel him in this time around.
Thanks for bringing this around. I suppose basketball news will pick up after NSD.
I think Cat grabbed the wrong tweet...
“@Coast2CoastHoop: Texas A&M will also watch Kendal Yancy-Harris at Berkner (TX) tomorrow, joining TCU and Providence.” #AggieHoops

Kendal should have been an A&M priority all along. He's the kind of player that A&M basketball should target and build the program around. He's a solid player, but not a top 20 type guy, he's from Texas, multi-faceted game from the guard spot. Can't get enough of those players if you're A&M in my opinion.

Aubs, is there any way we can get a rundown of some bball prospects? I feel like I don't know any one we're looking at
Agree 100% Aubs.
BK and Cyp had their sights set way too high with Frazier. Don't have the "support" to reel a player of his caliber in.
Per Cat, A&M hosted 2014 C Ben Lammers on an unofficial visit for the UK game.
Would be a great pickup as well. Texas kid w/ an Ag family.
I'll try to get something together pretty soon, unfortunately there's about five people that actually pay attention to basketball recruiting so the time it takes to get solid info for hoops (which is forever, because hoops recruiting is 99% bull****) isn't usually worth it from a business perspective, but I'll see what I can do.
For 2013 you're probably basically looking at Yancy Harris and some JuCo guys right now. Their biggest priority is getting Trocha into school, besides that they have commitments from Miller and Fitzgerald, so they really only have two more scholarships to offer by my count. (1 - Young, 2 - Harris, 3 - Space, 4 - Roberson, 5 - Green, 6 - Smith, 7 - Caruso, 8 - Reese, 9 - Trocha 10 - Miller, 11 - Fitzgerald)
Also has a multi-faceted game. Saw him at the state finals last year and he's a top level player. Needs to be more assertive though.
Yes, he was released from his LOI.
Btw, we should be excited about Tavario Miller. Not a high-profile recruit but should be a good player for us. Averaging 21 and 13 on the season. Scored 40 in a game earlier this year.
Here's one of the JUCO's we're after. Was committed to Oklahoma State but has since de-committed and has several high majors after him.
Have you ever polled subscribers on their interest level in basketball recruiting? I can't imagine I am alone in being as interested in basketball recruiting as football recruiting. The problem, however, is we are rarely offered any insight (or scoop) into our basketball recruiting. Basically, we get information as it becomes public, which can be frustrating. I feel like Cat puts out more basketball information than this site.
Aubrey is correct that 99% of the stuff you hear is bullshit.
It is what it is CedarParkAg. Even if Aubs worked on hoops recruiting 24/7, he probably wouldn't get any more than what is reported on Twitter.
so what are our needs with the last two spots? A post who doesn't get 50% of his shots blocked and a perimeter scorer?
It appears we're going after perimeter scoring and banking on getting Trocha in to help down low.
Next year we'll have KR, Space, Young, Miller and hopefully Trocha in the post. Still think we need to go after one more but again, BK's "offense" doesn't rely on post scoring.
Like I said earlier in the thread, would really love to land Yancy-Harris. I just feel like his game fits what we need right now.
Next years big ? is where do we go for scoring with Elston leaving. Kinda scary if you think about it.
Having said that, I don't know if there is a JUCO post player we're going after or not. Haven't seen anything.
the FSU transfer is probably the starter at the 4 spot right? He'll give us some athleticism and skill there since he's more of a hybrid SF/PF guy but without the shooting range to really play the 3. That would give us 5 guys inside which would probably be sufficient.
The Smith kid who is redshirting due to eligibility issues is supposed to be a scorer. We need to go finda a bigger version of Fabion.

Damn! Can't believe I forgot Space. Yes, he will be the 4 next to KR at the 5. Space should be a huge addition to next years squad.
I love Fabyon but you're right. His height does hurt him a bit. Several times a game he passes up on a 3 b/c of it. A bigger guard would be able to get the shot off he passes up. His delayed shooting motion also doesn't help.
A&M is going to have to get turnovers and transition bucks next season because they're probably going to be an absolutely horrible shooting team. but they should be really athletic, especially on the wing and in the front court.
Will Gunter, one of our hoops guys, just said that A&M will be in to see Frank Booker today. He's a 2013 guard out of Augusta.
Booker hit 6 3s and scored 40 points on Friday per twitter.
Here's another guard out Georgia that the staff has been on for awhile and will be going to watch tonight. Kid is a lights out shooter and is starting to blow up with a bunch of high major schools. Not a great athlete but can fill it up.
Hit 6 threes and scored 40 points last week.
Frank Booker is a 6'4" guard who will graduate in 2013. He has started for Westside High School's basketball team since his freshman year. He is a pure shooter and he is very skilled in the other areas of the game. He plays AAU ball for Southern Select. Additional highlights of Booker, while playing for Southern Select, can be found at Augustaeagles.blogspot.com under "Southern Select" in the "Featured AAU Teams" section. Southern Select's website is southernselectbasketballinc.com
