Maybe this is the beginning of the end...
The men's and women's basketball programs at Baylor University are facing possible NCAA sanctions following an investigation that uncovered more than 1,200 impermissible phone calls and text messages during a 29-month span.

texas finally got tired of their antics...
"Baylor doesn't deserve this," said no one ever
Don't hold your breath.
didn't they get left out of the tourney for this last year (or year before)?
Yawn. Probably just lose a few scholarships. Nothing big I bet
the NCAA is a joke.
I'm sure brian ethridge will stick his nose in here shortly.
SEC SEC SEC!!!
I hope they get harsh penalties but I doubt it. Does it surprise anyone that the majority of the violations happened when they landed the recruits that are getting them wins now? Get the players you need, slap a few self imposed sanctions on and say "oops." Four years later you have the greatest athletic year in your school history. They need to be punished more
Yeah there prob won't be very severe penalties, the NCAA gives out its harshest when there's a "lack of institutional control" and the report doesn't say anything about that.
Taylor- maybe now would be a good time for you to divulge some of the Baylor dirt you've happened upon??
Nothing will come of this.
So, you're telling me that the NCAA was there for three years and all they found was impermissible texts/calls?
Damn, the horns need to step up their influence in the NCAA.
they do what it takes to win, and nothing will happen to them. sounds pretty smart to me
I agree it sounds smart and I wouldn't have a problem if we did it (other than the fact that we'd be the team that gets made an example of). I'm just saying they need to be punished if the NCAA wants to keep others from doing it just because they know they can get away with minor punishment
If you break the rules, you should pay for it, period. This isn't a gray area, they cheated. Their 40-0 season should be taken away, along with the trophy. They should lose scholarships.
The article says the women lost 2 scholarships next year, and the men lost 2 scholarships (1 next year and 1 the following year).
Baylor is gay!!!! Who gives a flip. Put them up against any of these SEC teams.... Alabama, LSU, AUBURN, Florida, and they wont exist after!
Agree on Baylor being gay.
I'd also be very cautious right now if I were the Baylor people. That's a school that is ripe to made an example of as no one cares about them, they don't have a big fan following, and you lose basically nothing by tossing them.
The NCAA turns a deaf ear to schools like Texas and Alabama. Baylor doesn't get that benefit.
Remember the idiot Baylor mod that came over and posted here that they weren't cheating. Poor Baylor.
Their cheating football program is next.
Yup, brian ethridge.
That's right. Brian Etheridge. Hey Brian, looks like you've got content for the next three months. Cheaters!
Yep, he needs to be called out for his BS.
I think it was worth whatever sanctions that the NCAA hands down. They have achieved a level of success that was unattainable without cheating.
