Sounds like he's staying around a while.

Snyder said his family absolutely loves College Station and he intends to be there for long time in getting 12-year-old through school.
Here is another one:

Snyder said he had told himself if he ever had to uproot his family every 1 or 2 years he'd sell pharmaceuticals etc
A DC who wants to be a lifer? We're happy about this?
We're #56 in total D in a defense first league.
Listen, I love the guy and think he's done well enough. Hope he coaches here as long as we are fielding a GREAT defense. We're Texas A&M. Good defense ain't good enough for me.
I want a DC that gets offered SEC head coaching job interviews. I want to have to struggle to keep him.
Lets see what he can do when he gets some actual SEC caliber talent.
He was basically playing with DaMontre and a bunch of guys.
Agreed BB. I think it's good to have some continuity to start with. We are recruiting at a higher level now. I'm excited to see what he can do with these better athletes.
He needs to improve the D as we improve the talent, but I disagree with the rest. Some guys aren't cut out to be head coaches. John Chavis might be the best DC in football and he is a lifer as a DC.
"I like Bears and if you're going to be a bear, UMMMMM, BE A Grizzley"
Exactly. This was year one with really none of his own personnel. The prior post was only fair in wanting a stronger defense...Snyder has provided every indication he will provide that. Look at the recruit class for 2013 as an example.
Dude, Snyder did great (outside of the La Tech game). He did it with bits and pieces, bits and pieces that looked like garbage the year before.
Consistency on the defensive side of the ball with Sumlin as the head coach will pay dividends.
Stop being so negative and appreciate how lucky we are.
From IH-35 to IH-10... what then?
Excited as hell to see where we'll go with new faces.
But this is SEC football. If you're great, you get lucrative offers on the reg that make you forget what school your kids go to.
Shit coaches get comfy and/or buyouts negotiated.
Getting emo about OCs and DCs is not in my blood. This is a destination job we have right now. Time to act like it.
oh chill fags, I'm not calling your bff Snyder a bad coach. I put up HIS TOTAL DEFENSE statistic. That's what we are. Factual information to consider, gents.
He might be top 5 in total defense with his players, he might be 56 again. I'm the kind of Ag who would prefer to get territorial over top 5 guys.
We're Texas A&M. Defensive stalwart coaches and recruiters should be auctioning their first born for the opportunity to blow a Texas Aggie whistle. And that's that.
Can't take you seriously when you start a post that way. Pathetic.
Is anyone arguing that he does not need to improve to continue to have gainful employment from Texas A&M?
Defensive stalwart coaches are knocking down the door to coach here and a defensive coach who is eager to remain here is a bad thing? Which is it?
Mark Snyder is eager to have a job right now. Lest we forget his career pathing..
Snyder turned in a D that was SEC without the SEC talent. What he did was a miracle to say the least especially as thin as we were...I can only imagine what he will be able to do with the new bodies we have coming in...no worries here...chill
" Manziel is “a good kid, an honest kid. He has his heart in the right place.”
Chancellor, Texas A&M
Guy won 6 games exactly once in his HC life. I have the unfortunate burden of liking Marshall a little bit and know his past all too well.
Coaches are mercenaries. He's been pretty shitty at coaching for the bulk of his career. Hope he continues to get better. Much better.
earl, you need to get a grip on reality.
One of the biggest concerns we had going into this season besides our QB play was the defense. Nobody expected our defense to be up to par in the SEC. Surprise! Our defense was much better than expected but much of that was because our starters were in great shape and we suffered very few injuries. Credit conditioning but also credit a DC who put the best possible defense on the field with the best possible game plan over the course of the season. They may have given up a lot of yards but they gave up fewer points (good in the red zone) and they were outstanding in limiting third down conversions. All of this was done with hand me downs. We are on the verge of landing one of the best recruiting classes in our history and one of the largest too. Most of these incoming freshmen are expected to play defense. 2014 recruiting is off to an outstanding start and once again, the defense recruits are dynamite. Imagine what Coach Snyder can do with some top quality athletes and some depth.
If we get these two classes in and if we don't see any improvement, then you can whine and gripe all you want but you are premature in saying Coach Snyder is not our guy.
Here's my complete list of coaches across all sports currently under contract at Texas A&M I would get nervous about the possibility of losing:
1. Kevin Sumlin

Just talking Big 3? I wouldn't want to lose Pat Henry. Having a dominant track program sometimes helps with getting some football players.
Hence his preference to focus on DC. And yes, we should continue to see AND expect improvements. Same can be said about Sumlin and just about any other coach in the country not named Saban.
Now you are just trolling.
What about Wallerstedt? Is he staying or following KK to Lubbock?
If he is getting a raise and promotion, he probably goes. I don't think it's a good situation though - the entire defensive staff has already been filled with a bunch of Kilff's buddies though. Will be very easy for them to go over Wally's head and Kliff's loyalty will be to his buddies.
Yeah we're #56 in total defense in a defense first league. We also started a former walkon DT and had zero 4 star high school recruits on our starting defense. It's not Jimmys and Joes OR X's and O's, it's both.
Are you kidding? I could hear that arrow a mile away.
FIFY :) :)
