Hey Texas A&M brethren, Tide fan here to let you know the drawings of the new Kyle Field enlargement look great!!
We are rightfully proud of Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, but A&M is moving ahead and will have a really fine
stadium when these improvements are completed. Very impressive and the four corner pavilions are great, we are
very glad to see one named for our common coach, Paul W. Bryant. We are glad to see the new plans and know you
will be glad when it is completed. Good luck with the construction and bear with the inconvenience--we had to go through
that with our last 2 additions, raising the seating from 81,000 to 91,000 and then from 91,000 to 101,000. with the changes
in our end-zones. You will be glad when you get it done and we are smiling with you knowing that somebody to your west
will be green with envy (not Baylor, either). Gig em, Aggies!. Glad to have A&M in the SEC, you guys belong here and Coach Bryant would have heartily approved. RTR!

We're also getting a new Kyle Field North, it has a beautiful toilet seat that rests atop the stadium.
Thank you...we are anxiously looking forward to the new stadium and the leaked renderings have most of us pretty jazzed. Though plans are not approved yet...if if looks close to this I believe we will all be happy.
Trivia: A&M and Alabama have multiple coaches in common with Bear Bryant the headliner. Who can you name the others-two are easy?
I actually wish we'd not name part of it after Bear Bryant. While the Junction Boys was cool and all, he's not really that big a piece of A&M history, other that to say, "This coach that went on to become a legend was at A&M once."
Sherrill is much more deserving than Bryant.
So is Slocum, for that matter.
We're going to name the corners after who pays the most.
Bryant and him-who-shall-not-be-named. He flew off to College Station and left us high-and-dry; however, I am sure my
A&M brethren would not want to claim him either. Where is the one who RAN now? Texas Southern? Good riddance
for us and for you, right?
Jackie Sherril was a great coach, but he was only one of our assistants not HC. I wish we had hired him instead of some
of the ones we did hire.....those were painful years indeed. One thing we can agree on, Coach Bryant was the real deal.
Coach Sumlin is the real deal too.....
He coached A&Ms only other Heisman winner as well as coached Gene Stallings, I agree RC should be on one if that's really what they end up doing, But Bryant is certainly a fairly large part of A&Ms history.
Though Homer Norton is probably the one getting hosed. He's the only A&M coach besides Bible, Sherill and Slocum to win multiple conference championships and the only one to win the AP national tile.

I'm not saying Bryant isn't part of A&M's history, I'm saying he's not nearly a big enough part to warrant being on the stadium.
Put it this way: Let's say he goes to Alabama, flames out, and is fired after a couple of years. There really wouldn't be much mention of him ever. It's what he did at Alabama that makes everyone revere his time at A&M like they do.
See: Gillispie, Billy Clyde... If BCG did well at UK, then he'd be seen as the basketball version of Bear Bryant. However, since he sucked it up, people in 50 years likely won't even know who the hell he was.
For the record, coaches in common are:
Maybe posting's just not your game. I know, let's have a spelling contest.
question is who's name comes down for sumlin?
Please avoid the use of the "F" word on this site.
If BCG had won a conference title, that would be a pretty good comparison. I'm not saying Bryant is one of A&Ms four most important people ever, I'm just saying his part of history was certainly important.
Hell, if Sumlin wins the SEC next season he'll have already passed him on the importance list probably.
I don't know about that. My dad was around then and Bryant's arrival and tenure at A&M was a huge deal. Even if it was for a short time, he put A&M back in the spotlight after years of falling behind. And looking back now, he's the only A&M coach I know of that they made books and movies about his time on campus.
I understand your point, but have to disagree. He's a major figure in A&M's football history.
Who would you put up to replace him? It's hard to look at names of Aggie coaches and pass up one of the great coaches in college football history. When visiting fans and recruits come I would prefer they see a football legend on our stadium. The story of the Junction Boys, a heisman trophy and the fact that he is arguably the best college coach ever should be enough.
The corners are open to naming rights. I believe the coaches names are a filler for the time being.
Pretty sure that's correct.
Let me know where to send the check to assure Phineas Gage Corner is one of them.
I won't like it if they only add 10K seats. This stadium needs to be the biggest in the country! 115K - 120K! Add enough knowing that TU will then close their South End in attempt to overtake us.
Who cares what they do. U wanna keep the supply just right to keep tickets in high demand.
They're in high demand now. Curious as to how many are on the waiting list.
Few thousand I think
kyle field enlargement plans are beautiful. ya'll will have one of greatest stadiums in the land. a&m has always been one of my favorite universities. i am so glad the aggies are in the sec. looking forward to our future relations. gig em aggies!
Just 3 years ago we had room for plenty more people in Kyle.
