Mack is officially trying to take our leftovers. Fantastic.
That could be a pretty good spot for him. He would be the best QB in their class and have a good chance of early PT.
How pathetic is it that Mack waits until he's no longer committed before offering. The man has lost it
He'll be a 4 star within 2 days.
I definitely agree with your statement.
Who is this guy? Any thoughts on him?
Hookem for Life!
He knew CEL would say no, and it would be another victory for A&M. Now if for some reason CEL commits to tu the spin machine can and will say that they flipped him.
Athlete from Auburn, AL. Plays qb in high school, he was committed to A&M to play slot. Great athlete and his dad is/was the rb coach at Auburn. Decommitted because we have too many receivers.
Probably the same argument for Thomas Johnson last year. Hell at least Sumlin like this guy at some point so maybe we are actually evaluating some talent.
He's a great athlete but decommitted because he didn't think he could compete with the guys we have committed now at WR. He's probably right. Great athlete and soft. Great fit in Austin.
It's not evaluating to go after Sumlin leftovers. It's trusting other staffs know how to evaluate and hoping they were right
Thanks. our mods says he is fast and god knows we need that in the worst way. At this point, Sumlin's 2nds could better than our 1sts.
He might be the best QB on their team. Better athlete than anyone they have, and at least as good of an arm. He'd have to learn the offense, but I'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult for him. I'd say if he has the chance to play QB to go for it, but I'd hate for a good kid to end up on a sinking ship.
No WR is a fit in Austin at this time.
Gotta have a competent QB and system, they have neither.
Watching Mack unfold is fun.
...who the heck seriously knows except God, and Sumlin. ~ Aggiemom6
This is true re: TJ. Evaluating talent has never been as large of a problem as development and coaching.
He might actually throw the ball better than Swoopes....but even as a receiver he'll at least give you some speed in the slot. Nice pickup for you guys if you get him!
yes and no. I agree with your last sentence, but any college still has to evaluate before they offer. (I will assume that your staff most likely did 90%+ of the evaluation, but this is par for the course for Mack at this point.)
He's a really good athlete. I'm not sure how polished he is at receiver. I liked him in our class but for once we actually have better options.
We need this in the worst way.
Mack probably saw his senior highlights and thinks he can turn him into the next johnny football. So now he has a Vince Young and Johnny Football on the team, how could he lose?
This is where we're at right now Ags.
the kid is a good kid and a good player.
not an explosive dynamic playmaker but a kid that will be ready to play from day 1

If you say so. To me it's pretty obvious the lowest ranked and least coveted players are dropping off the bottom of your class as numbers get tight. And that's not a coincidence.
Texas now needs our "lowest ranked and least coveted" former commits
