Let me be transparent (no pun intended)I have not seen Cameron Clear film. Is there film out there? I need to evaluate him.
Before I do, I must admit this prospect has OT written all over him on the surface. It makes sense. Big, athletic guy who can move. We have seemingly stopped recruiting any other OT prospects as well. This site seems to still list his HS weight. TOS has him at 285 lbs at 6'6". Guys, this is an OT. Again, I may change my view after I see some film. Additionally, this offense doesn't really use a traditional TE at all. Not sure why so many seem hell bent on finding a TE. We don't use them in the traditional sense.
Sign me up for a 6'6" 295 pounder this August that can play 3 years. Left tackle Aggies..

you think hes a tackle taylor?
I think wherever the coaches want him to play, he'll play.
Hes a jumbo te who can catch. He'll play the lamothe and hicks role. Lots of protection assignments. Its an important spot.
And he is 6'6 with soft hands. He'll go get the ball. And provide johnny a very big target over the middle and as a release on scrambles. Johnny needs these types.
Most schools recruited him as an inline te. Although bama did wnt him as lt. He prefers to play te and dropped wt to do thayt.
Thanks Mr T.
Not a large sample set in that film, but you can tell he's nimble and athletic. I have no doubt he can play TE. But I think he's a Left Tackle in our offense and in the SEC. He's a great prospect. I think this explains why we aren't hearing about St John, Calhoun or Bennenoch any longer. The staff has found their big athletic OT that can run with Johnny.
That may be the least impressive highlight film I have seen. His coaches did a terrible job on that.
All I got out of it is that he is big and can move fairly well for his size.
Although, I agree with Benny, I am not sure why we are recruiting a TE. We seldom used Hicks this year.
Although, I'm not sure I'd recruit him as an OT. Would be a project and I'm not sure we have that kind of time. Is he 3-3 guy or a 3-2?
Respectfully disagree Scotty.
This kid has tremendous option value at LT. Less value at TE for our specific needs. Trust Benny here. I think he's just another guy at that HBack role. How many catches has Hicks and Lamothe combined for this year? Maybe 12? Additionally, with the big body WRs were bringing in (Parker, RSJ etc) I think Kliff wants to match those athletes up over the middle with SS and OLBs.
I'll put in a call and get more info for us.
It's only two games worth of film and I guarantee the A&M coaches see a lot of different aspects of that film they like, that fans don't/can't see.
Hicks or lamothe were on the field ~40 % of snaps. You r confusing catches with importance.
If u lose joekel a big body to stay in and help on a 270 rush end becomes more noticed by fans.
I don't want to miss quote you here, but are you telling us HBack is more important in this offense than left tackle? Is having a HBack more important than potentially having another option to replace an all American left tackle?
Just want to make sure I'm clear.

play maker is spot on but one thing, I think we'll make a spot for him. He's not going to play in the backfield whatsoever.
He's going to line up at flex or inline. But other than that, it's spot on.
Benny, he'll play te. He's the LSU Killer. Also, he's not coming to play left tackle. He's not a fish, he's a jr to be.. He's Tellus Bennet..

Couple things, these sort of topics are not your forte. We've seen you mangle yourself in these debates all too often. I say that with respect bud.
I don't know what an "LSU killer" is. We want every Saturday "killers". We don't recruit to be cute. We only have 85 ships to give. The staff demands mileage not situation players. That's Fran era. Turn the page.
I could be wrong but I believe this prospect is a 3 to play 3 guy, so he's not a Junior.
Now, I will admit we could absolutely see Clear play a TE type role next year assuming both OTs return. That is the contingency. However, I feel he's the athletic OT we need to literally run with Johnny for three years. I think we can groom him to play OT post Joeckel. He's a million dollar Tackle prospect. I haven't seen a 300 lb TE in a very long time if ever. Can't y'all see this??
Read between the lines Ags..
More evidence.. Bama evaluated him as a Left Tackle prospect.. Hmmm
