So, here is an off the wall question (and not important to some)...
When the 7 mid term kids sign and enroll into school (along with any other mid term enrollee that signs with TAMU), will they come off our 2013 247 class ranking?
I guess where i'm going with this is, we are currently sitting at #11 (composite ranking) and have SIX 3*'s and ONE 4* enrolling in January. Granted i was not the best at math yet if those commits count back towards the 2012 class and are taken off the 2013 class then our overall ranking for this class will INCREASE...
Granted we still have the chance of adding RSJ, Manning, Savage, Alexander, and Mitchell (which will all help elevate our class ranking) yet taking off several 3*'s (to count back towards the 2012 class) and adding some of the above 4*'s will make the overall ranking number higher.
Does anyone know if it works this way?
Lastly - Sure, to some rankings don't matter yet sometimes it is about perception (we are seeing tons of that with the media love we are getting). The sips have been masters at the art. The seem to stay on top (for so many years) because they have gotten good at molding perception. Even though they are an average football team (21-15 over the last 3 years) they have been able to stay in the discussion because they make it appear they are doing well. Sure, results matter yet if you can mold perception then you can buy some time AND sometimes that is all a coach needs. A little more time... So, it doesn't matter yet it really does (EVERYTHING MATTERS)...
JMO and thanks to anyone that can share some info....
The 25 player cap won't matter next year. We won't even get close. The more important cap is the 85 player cap.
With 30+ players coming in this year, well over a third of our team will be tied up with one class. I bet there won't be a lot of red shirts next year. Use them quick.
No, it does not work that way.
The counting back for class year only matter for school/NCAA enrollment purposes. The "team rankings" for recruiting sites use the more realistic approach of including everyone in each recruiting cycle, and NOT basing it on what class they count toward.
Well, we'll have 4-6 JUCOs country towards the 2012 class, so it won't have as many as you would think. Plus the other 5 HS mid term guys that count for 2012 and not 2013z
I bet we redshirt quite a few from this class actually. Most positions had jucos and multiple high school guys at it. We can almost redshirt a guy(or 2-3) at every position.
With the 85 player cap do you think Sumlin tries to move on with players like Askew?
We'll sign 25 most every year. The best schools do
yep, and we will have guys leaving early to the draft, the best school do.
