Melvin bullitt has been a safety in the NFL for how many years now? Who cares, this kid gets the nod.
Terrence Kiel and Melvin Bullitt can't help put money in jkb's pockets.
As a sophomore in highschool who would you take? Melvin Bullit or DT? Obviously the answer is DT. Melvin wasn't anywhere near the prospect DT is. And that's not saying DT will go pro or be a superstar in college. Im trying to have a intelligent convo about what safety you guys have seen in the last 15 years as a sophomore or even a junior that is as good or better then DT?
I thought you left???
Honest question though. Have you been around anyone(family) else besides DT with success?

...who the heck seriously knows except God, and Sumlin. ~ Aggiemom6
Tons of kids that are rated as high or higher than DT don't even sniff the league. See, that's the thing: You gotta actually do it. Then proclaim him the best S in 15 years.
I'll take a multi-year pro career over some kid you claim is the best on earth. Sure, his potential may be through the roof. But that's all it is at this point. Potential. Every year roughly 60% of kids that were rated 5 stars (probably higher than DT) don't even make the NFL.
And Terrence Kiel was very highly rated as a high school kid. Not sure you really know what you're talking about.
Von Miller was a 4 star kid, but tons of kids were rated higher than him.
He got the 2nd most votes for NFL defensive MVP this year. He's light years better than Earl Thomas and has a much bigger impact on games.
Should we just go ahead and assume some random kid that was rated as a 5-star but didn't do jack squat was better than him?
Exactly. You have to put it all together. 2 years of high school ball doesn't make you a hall of famer

Damn--feels like it got a lot less professional in here with jkb's departure.
I know, I know.
People can't take a little bit of sarcasm.
jkbtjc53 - I know you are probably coming over here trying to get us information, but it comes across - to me anyway - that you're rubbing our nose in the fact your cousin committed to Alabama. You started the thread telling us he's committed to Alabama on an A&M board, but we can take comfort in the fact that we're offering next week?
Then you tell us you believe freakin Art Briles is a Top 5 coach in the country? I do not disagree he's done very well at Baylor. I know you have another relative at Baylor. But Top 5 coach in the country? With as much money as Auburn throws around in football and they don't go after Art Briles hard? Again, he's done a good job, but he's barely over .500 there after six years.
Even with RGIII he lost by four TDs to Mike Sherman and to Okie State. Their defense was rated almost at the very bottom of DI schools last year and has not been good since he's been there. You have to know how highly thought of that Larry Jackson is around here. Yet you come on our board and tell us Baylor's guy is Top 3 in the COUNTRY.
You obviously love Baylor and that is understandable and fine. But I don't want to hear it on our board, nor do I want to hear how your cousin is not coming here.
How do you expect A&M fans to feel?
Baylor is where kids that couldn't get better offers go.
Art does a lot with them, but it's still not an impressive offer.
I never said A&M didn't have a chance, because they do read his articles even after Bama offered he said he wants to hear from the aggies. All I stated is that you guys were offering this current week as I was told by the staff.
Art Briles being a top 5 coach I believe that. Saban, Urban Meyer, Bill Synder, Bob Stoops, Coach Sumlin, Gary Patterson and Art Briles are the best in the business to me as of right now.
And because I said Baylors S&C guy was top three that leaves two other spots, how do you know Larry Jackson wasn't in my top three. And if you check the facts Baylor's guy was S&C coach of the year this past season so for the time being he's one of the best.
And once again I didn't say DT wasn't interested in A&M
Well then accept my apology.
Dang it now you are playing games with me. Are you gone or not? Earl that you?
Apology accepted. I should have been more clear. He does love Alabama, but there is about four schools he will still listen to if they call and if they recruit him might flip him and A&M is one of them
