to have the #1 recruiting class on all sites?
Say we somehow land Alexander, Foster, and Savage...and Griffin qualifies. Would that do it? Any other combinations are welcome...
I guess you're assuming that no other team in the country will get any more commits between now and signing day?
I don't keep up with many other schools' recruiting, but let's assume all of the top prospects go to where they've said they're leaning or where they're "most likely" to go according to recruiting sites.
No chance. Bama will probably close with 2-3 more 5 star guys + 2-3 more Nat 100 guys on top of that. USC will add a couple of more guys. Ohio State is still going to land a half dozen 4 star guys. We'll probably finish borderline top 5.
Some of the rankings also have a diminishing returns element built into the rankings so if you sign too many guys at one position then they don't count for as much as they would if you had fewer guys. From a rankings standpoint we'd probably be better off losing a handful of the lower ranked 3 star guys.
Is Hoza still announcing tomorrow?
I could careless about the ranking as long as we develop the players we have coming in. The rankings mean crap if we don't developed them and they produce.
Prevot (possibly if there is a spot)
Sanders (since I don't think ZS is coming here)
pack the lunch pail and call it a day....will be a helluva year.....rankings be damned
Just when we believe success is happening on the recruiting trail, we want to value the rankings like tu? Look where that has gotten them. Earlier this year, Sumlin mentioned he does not look at recruit rankings.
Sumlin does not but it's pretty common for the recruits to look at them.
Kids want to play with and against winners. We won't get there this year but having the #1 recruiting class is pretty big from a perception standpoint.
And I don't think he should. He has plenty of knowledgeable recruiters.
But for national attention, I think being #1 on all sites would be pretty incredible. Of course, we can't pull a tu and get great recruits but not develop them. I'm not too worried about that, though.
The magic number is 40!
