Hilarious. It's all about the money. Given his recent back and shoulder injuries, that extra $30 million guaranteed is looking a little sweeter. Amazing.
He either royally effs the Rockets, or the Lakers are saddled with this big puzzy. Kobe coming off Achilles, 40 year old Nash, puzzy D12, passive Gasol, or he effs the Rockets. I love it.
He's already being a head case and he isn't on an NBA roster
Your will to win will define you tomorrow.
OR he signs with the Rockets AND the Lakers no longer have to deal with him. You make no sense.
Or he goes to the Warriors after Lakers agree to S&T
So glad he's not headed to Big D
@WojYahooNBA: Dwight Howard has called Houston GM Daryl Morey to tell him he's joining the Rockets, team source tells Y!
Allow me a moment to wash the egg off my face. Give me a minute, gonna need to run the washrag under warm water. Apologies, Hammbone.
I still think Howard isn't enough to make the Rockets a true contender, just as I did had he signed with my Mavs. But I did want him, as opposed to blowing it up or hoping to sign Monta Ellis and/or Jose Calderon (success!) or some other BS.
Now, if they can deal Asik for Josh Smith....holy chit.
Please Ryan Andersen please Ryan Andersen...
He's the shooter Josh Smith thinks he is.

I would love to have Anderson bc he is a better long-term fit, and looks like the Rockets might get him from the Pelicans. But to say he is better than Josh Smith right now, well you are flat out wrong...check Smith's 2nd half stats bro.

ShortLeash...I like you as a poster, but this is a fail. Check what Smith is in the picture you posted and reevaluate your position.
Oh, shit. That's embarrasing. Lol. I knew Smith in question was from the Hawks too, have no idea why I did't catch that. Oops.
Josh Smith's stats are still better than Anderson's from this season. But like I said, I do agree with you that Anderson is the better fit regardless.
I don't get the point of pointing this out. Smith scores a point more a game and 2 more rebounds. But Smith also shoots maybe 30% from 3 while Anderson is hovering around 40%. He's a better floor stretcher at the 4.
Smith makes dumb decisions and can shoot his team out of a game real quick. However, Howard and Smith together on the front line would be one helluva defensive front court.
Anderson stretches the floor so well and would make the pick n roll game with Harden and Howard that much more deadly. With Garcia and Delfino both gone, Rox HAVE to get more 3 point shooting if they want to contend next season.
I prefer Anderson to Smith.

Yes, but Smith also shoots more than 4% better from the field, has 3.5 more assists per game plus the 2 more boards you mentioned. We have Parsons and Harden that can shoot 3's. I agree with Hugh in that, Smith and Howard will make a more formidable front court on D. Plus, if Asik gets traded, which will likely be necessary to nab either Smith or Anderson, then we just lost another big man, so Smith is the better fit in that regard. But I also agree with you that Anderson is the better 3 shooter obviously (by 8%), and a better fast break and pick and roll player. To me, either player is a win, as long as the Rockets get one of them. They both are a huge upgrade in our starting 5 with a healthy Howard. I am just not discounting Smith like many are, that's all.
I just read this article stating that talks with Delfino and Garcia are not over and the Rockets could use their Mid-Level Exception to sign one of them.
It may be unlikely though, as they could probably get more money elsewhere.
4% really doesn't mean much when you look at Smith's volume of shots. He shot the Hawks out of games constantly. He's a good defender and him paired with Howard would be a solid combo. That's about the only positive to him. I don't see how losing Asik makes Smith a better fit over Anderson. They both play the power forward spot. Anderson is actually bigger than Josh Smith. You clearly aren't discounting Smith, you're over valuing him. He's an athlete with a lot of potential but he has no basketball IQ and is content to chuck shots all game regardless of whether or not he's hitting. Harden already shoots a high volume, there's no need to throw a guy like Smith in there too. In today's NBA you can't have enough players that shoot the 3 well. Especially with Dwight. If you an space the floor around Dwight with 4 guys who shoot 35% or higher from 3, it becomes impossible to double Dwight.
I hear ya, but your math is flawed because if Smith shoots more shots but misses more, than his FG% would go down, but it is still 4% better than Anderson's. Plus, Smith has almost double tylhe assist of Anderson. Percentages don't lie. Smith would know his place with Harden and Howard running the show. good point and totally agree with you that having a 38%+ 3 point shooter opens the floor up for Howard and makes his game better. At the end of the day, each guy brings positives and negatives. I see why overall, Anderson is the better fit. But just because Anderson is bigger does not make him a better front court defender also...As your lady probably tells you, size doesn't always matter...j/k
Well, Josh Smith went to the Pistons for $56 mil....so there goes that possibility. Omri Casspi signing with Rockets from Cavs...and he is a nobody. Ugh. Ok, so hopefully an Anderson deal works out.
