Here's the interview Herbsteit did yesterday. Good stuff.
ESPN Video: Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel sits down with Kirk Herbsreit to talk about life after the Heisman trophy and dreams of playing in the NFL.
Get's me pumped
...who the heck seriously knows except God, and Sumlin. ~ Aggiemom6
I think he has a great year, isn't projected as high as he thought, comes back for 1 more year.
I think he'll project well considering how dual threats are becoming more productive in the nfl. especially if Wilson has another good year.
If he has a great year he has nothing left to prove, why would he come back? Too much $$ to be lost.
Johnny's problem is his stature and his maturity. Not necessarily off field, but how are NFL teams going to take being led by a 21 year old? He's also something like 3-4 inches shorter than most of the successful dual threats and at least 20lbs lighter.
He's obviously a fantastic player and a great athlete, but I think his size will make teams hold off. I don't know what round would be enough to make Johnny go, but I don't see how he'd get a 1st round or even high second round pick next year even with good performance.
“Honestly [tu's offer] doesn’t really matter though because I won’t go there. I won’t even visit." “I want to play big time ball in the SEC"
He's like the same exact size as Russell Wilson. You have a point about his age and maturity, but I can't imagine he wouldn't project well if we have another good year, especially if he gets another heisman and/or a bcs bowl or national championship win.
Only takes one team to fall in love with you. Hell, Tebow got picked in the first round.

And Tebow won a heisman, 2 titles, and was an SEC title game away from a 3rd national championship.
Tebow was also proto-typical NFL size.
I'm also an idiot because I looked up the stats for Tyler Wilson not Russel Wilson.
Here's hoping there's some very satisfying QB play in the NFL.
That still doesn't make him a great NFL quarterback. Practically nobody thought he was a first round talent except the Denver Broncos.
I'm not saying Tebow wasn't a great college quarterback, but just that it only takes one team to think you're an NFL quarterback to get taken in the first round.
Im with most of you... hes gone after this year.
I was just saying he didn't seem like a terrible idea at the time because of what his team achieved.
And he is by NO means the first or last bust qb taken early.
I guess you don't remember all the talk going into the draft about him. It was a pretty big shock that he was picked in the first round. Everyone was surprised when the Broncos took him in the first round.
Again, my only point is that it only takes one team to make you a first rounder. 31 teams could hate Johnny Manziel as a quarterback, but he only needs one team to like him.
JFF will it for no other fact than to prove experts wrong and it won't matter which round he is taken in. He has the competitive it factor embedded in his DNA. Enjoy this year boys while he is still here because it will be his last.

That's the thing about Johnny, everywhere he's been people have told him what he can't do, and he's proven them wrong every time. I hope he can do that forever
Tebow was also told he would be taken in the first round by several different teams. You wouldn't believe the stuff told to some of these kids to get them to enter. If a team can tell you something to get you to enter and then go back on their word and take you later at a smaller price they will.
If he's smart. He will wait and increase his stock price
Agreed. If no one likes him but one team and that team knows no one likes him then he's not going to be taken until they feel like someone else wants him that round

Tend to agree that he's gone after this year. I know the media gleefully plays up his only attachment to Aggieland being the business of playing football, but nothing in the edited interview dissuades that very much. Maybe that's ESPN at work or maybe JF really feels that way. Hard to tell.
Aubrey, Hate to agree with you on this one but i do. Sure hope Aggie2012thman is right!!!
