TMZ confirms that there is another player involved in this, but the question is: Was Te'o a part of it?
Deadspin had a source claim that he was "80% sure" that these two had the plan to use this for publicity.
Now, a new player (actual ND player) has stepped up to say that he's almost certain that Te'o was doing this for publicity and that several other members of the team disapproved of what he was doing:
“Honestly [tu's offer] doesn’t really matter though because I won’t go there. I won’t even visit." “I want to play big time ball in the SEC"
I figured he was gay and the guy running the twitter was his lover. A mormon in a catholic school probably can't expect too much acceptance for such a lifestyle.
If the reports from the second article are accurate, he had quite a few relations with other females. May negate the gay theory.
"I am a walk-on at Notre Dame. I did not play
this year but was on the practice squad. We have been told to keep quiet
on this, but as a non-scholarship player who plans on transferring, I
don't care. We knew this girl was a hoax sometime in October. People in
the locker room and around the football program started talking about
it. The coaches knew but everyone was told to more or less play dumb.
Facts are Te'o sexuality was in question his freshman year and there
were rumors he was gay. Te'o then all the sudden had this G/F and then
all the sudden she was dying, etc. etc. I think he made up this G/F
story to hide his sexuailty and it backfired on him. I have nothing
against Gays personally, but at a big Catholic school like this it is
hard to overcome. Te'o's problem is that he kept telling this lie when
he knew it wasn't real, and even added to it with her dying I guess for
attention or whatever. Either way, I'm done with this place and Kelly."
SEC SEC SEC!!!
Awww shit, where did this come from?
Your will to win will define you tomorrow.
Just looked at the ND football website, nobody by the name Brandon on the roster
You just did more fact checking than ESPN
Where did you see that USMCAG? I found One Brandon Walker, a walk-on kicker but he should have been a senior a year or so ago. Another Brandon Newman was a nose tackle but looked like he was on scholarship. So could be valid.
Could 'Brandon' be a nom de plume?
Tap your foot twice on the floor of the men's room stall if you know. ;)

Where did you find anyone named Brandon? I looked at the ND website official 2012 roster. http://www.und.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/nd-m-footbl-mtt.html
I looked at earlier rosters since the 2012 one didn't have any Brandon's. also googled Brandon notre dame football walk on and found a Bleacher Report article from 2010 about a kicker (Brandon Walker) who was struggling as a kicker and so others were probably going to take his spot.
Might not be him because it was a couple years ago.
The statement did say he was on the practice squad. Are practice squad players usually listed on the official roster?
could easily be a cover name, or he could have made the team after the roster was published. or he could just be trolling. it'd be more convincing if he told his story to a reporter under the cover of anonymity.
Found it on another site, thought it was interesting.
