Coach polian just tweeted this
@BrianPolian: Very excited for the new challenge as the HC at Nevada - cannot wait to get to Reno and get started! Go Wolf Pack!
Good luck to Polian! Awesome on Jake!
According to coachingsearch.com Polian is making 475k per yr. not significantly more money for a ton more responsibility, at non-contender school. He could have stuck around another year or two, and probably been offtered a much more lucrative HC job. Oh well, I'm not walking in his shoes, good luck Polian
Article I saw said 475K plus incentives. No idea how much those incentives could add up to or how easy they might be to achieve. And for a career assistant, that first HC job is a real breakthrough.
I heard right after the season was over that jake and Luke decided that they would declare or stay together ..... Not sure how much truth there is to that but happy to keep one either way.
Polian is also probably getting into a good situation with the relative talent level on campus. Anderson had the program going in a good direction. It's also geographically good for him with his recruiting relationships. In general, it's probably tougher to get HC opportunities as a special teams coordinator. So overall, I see this as a good move for Polian.
You mean Ault?
Apologies for the duplicate thread.
may be they're just waiting to have all their ducks in a row then announce all the Defensive coaches at once... so Wally may be looking for position coaches and have that done before the big announcement.
They have already announced several coaches, including 1 of the new Co-Defensive Coordinator. That's why I was curious as to the hold up?
