Okay, so I'm in the final of my fantasy league this week and one of my players has a Thursday game (that's why I'm asking the questions now). I have two questions:
1. Do I start Cam Newton at San Diego (he's hot, great matchup) or Tom Brady vs San Francisco (he's Tom Brady but terrible matchup).
2. For 2 RB spots, a WR spot and a flex I can pick from 5 RB's - Stephen Jackson vs Min, Bryce Brown vs Cin, Shonn Greene @ Ten, Sproles vs TB or Leshoure @ Ari and 2 WR's -Steve Smith @ San Diego and/or Danario Alexander vs Carolina. My other WR is Julio Jones so he's defiinitely playing.
This is a standard 10-team league, none of these guys appear to be hurt and the final worth about $600 difference between first and second.
I'm leaning towards Cam, Jackson, Brown, Greene and Alexander (diversifying my risk if Cam plays like he did earlier in the year). What do ya'll think?
The 5 you are thinking about starting are probably the best. Tom Brady is pretty hot right now though. I don't know if I could justify sitting him even though he is playing SF. Cam could have a big game too though.
First, I always hesitate to give advice. Ultimately, make the choice YOU want to make so that you can't be pissed about the choice you let someone else talk you into.
But here is what I would do:
Scam Newton (He is on fire)
Sproles, Jackson, Brown (maybe Leshoure... they will win BIG v Arizona)... I hate the Jets
Steve Smith/Alexander is a toss up.... but I would probably go Smith, especially if I went Scam Newton (I would not diversify... your game will likely ride on whether Scam plays great or not)... go big or go home and double up if they have a good game
I'm putting on a case study in how to overthink this week in my league semi-finals, but I need to put up a huge number. I just pulled up the Titans defense off the free agent list to have in the wings in case I need it. What I really need is Houston's offense to go off the rails this weekend against Indianapolis. That would be awesome on a number of levels.

you made it to the finals on your own, stick w/ it
Thanks guys! I'm going to play Cam, Brown and Alexander. I'm going to decide between Greene and Leshoure for the last spot. Both have that split carry issue but both have good matchups. Just can't trust Sproles!
Playoffs -play best. Never bench Tom Brady. He gets hot this time every year.
