In addition to Wally, he's considering Claude Mathis, Mike Jinks and Clarence McKinney as RB coach. Comical for KK to think McKinney would consider a lateral to Lubbock.

Yep. Go pick off a HS somewhere.
SEC SEC SEC!!!
Where do you hear all of this crap? Unless they make more money - which I doubt - anyone is stupid to go with KK and Tech.
I'm sure there's a 25 year old former techtard player out there who is an assistant HS coach that he has his eye on that we just haven't heard about yet.
I'd like to know the source as well. KK just hired Smith to be Co-DC. Kaufman is the current DC. My guess is Smith is being brought in as Co-DC with Kaufman for the 1st, year. I seriously doubt Wallerstedt would leave A&M to be Co-DC. He has Associate HC experience, I think at this point, he's here until an opportunity of a lifetime opens up, which could be in the near future, but I don't see a Co-Anything at TT being that opportunity. As for the other assistants, name some sources or quit spreading more rumors
This. I'm tired of hearing from morons on Tech message boards. They thought JFF was transferring there at one point.
Jinks isn't leaving Steele for Tech. He's got young kids and has it way too easy where he is right now.
source is Chris Level of Rivals Tech site.
I'm sure Kliff wants a lot of coaches. That doesn't mean they want to follow him out to Lubbock.
And he says what? That Clarence McKinney is interested or that is someone they would like to talk to?

I just got off the phone with Chris Level who has been working the phone lines with sources regarding Texas Tech's search for a running backs coach to replace Chad Scott and the search for a defensive coordinator.
With respect to the defensive coordinator search, current Texas A&M linebackers coach Matt Wallerstedt will not decide his future until after the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 4.
Current defensive coordinator Art Kaufman, who many assumed was heading to Cincinnati, is undecided on his future but is not thought to be in the mix for a position on Kingsbury's staff.
There are three candidates for the running backs coach. They are:
Jinks is the head coach at Cibolo Steele High School, a consistent power from the San Antonio area. Earlier in the year he weighed a move to Converse Judson High School.
Mathis is the current DeSoto head football coach but accepted the running backs job at Houston last year. Due to a salary issue he returned to DeSoto for the 2012 season. He has eight years experience as a high school head coach dating back to time at Austin's LBJ High School.
McKinney is the current Texas A&M running backs coach and five years of experience at the position dating back to being the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at U of H. Before that, he was the head coach at three Houston area high schools.

Thanks for the info aggieque: This sucks! I hope Wally and McKinney stick around, but money talks, if they get promos and significant pay increase offers, they will probably bail. Worried that Wally is still considered to be in the mix, and waiting tip after the bowl. If he was for sure going to say no thanks, he could do that at anytime.
I can't see McKinney leaving for the same job at Tech for an unproven coach with a horrible staff - unless of course they're giving him a lot of money. Why would he want to go to Lubbock and the other two candidates are high school guys? Doesn't make much sense.
If the pay is near the same, I don't see it happening for McKinney either. McKinney makes $245k currently. He will probably get bump after this season, but I have no idea what kind of pool of money TT gave KK for his assistants

Wally on the other hand I could see being swiped up by KK, which sucks! his current salary is 240k. I imagine KK would be able to offer 400k+ to Wally as a Co-DC. As much as Lubbock sucks, that is a big chunk of change to pass up.
