has followed Kingsbury to Tech to be his Chief of Staff (what Justin Moore is here).
per coaching search.
Dude has really decided to bite the hand that fed him (Sumlin). Kind of a dick move IMO to hire all these guys from the Ags
Just about to say that.
Kliff doesn't know anyone else. That's all he can do is hire Sumlin's guys on the margin.
KK was a phony the entire time he was here
When does Daddy interview for the new director of recruiting position
Lol...never heard of him.
Agree. I sure thought our Director of Recruiting was someone else. Maybe I'm getting confused with someone who actually recruits vs. an administrator position who is the guy who coordinates all the visits to A&M, coaches visits with recruits, etc.? If an administrator who doesn't do any actual recruiting, I'm confident we can find a replacement. Bring back Tim Cassidy who I believe is now with ASU. He was with A&M for over 20 years. Why did we lose him to begin with?
Can't be a serious post.
I don't really care about this one guy or Wallerstedt. I just think its bad form to leave for another job and hire away all of your colleagues. Especially in a situation where your boss has given you every opportunity and you turn around and take his staff.
Haha. The first part was serious. I should have added an emoji.
Alright lezbihonest for a second. Sumlin told KK who he could have. If there was one coach we could upgrade with a stud is Wally. He didnt let him take the key pieces. Snyder wasn't leaving. He said I don't think so for his louisianimal insider Yates, BJ is his boy, the beast from the northeast Dallas area wasn't leaving. He let Wally take a chance at a place DC's go to die and Polian bounced for a head coaching gig
books plane tickets, makes restaurant reservations and drives around in a golf cart.
Win we shall, yes we can, yes we will.
Insignificant move, but KK is a prick and always will be. I wish him nothing but failure.
Bell was very well thought off.
Guys, KK is just giving the opportunity of a lifetime for about 3 coaches.
But it's what he knows.
Sumlin can easily find another guy to work with or to land.
It's like Sumlin getting the HC gig. He got BJ Anderson, KK, and McKinney the opps of a lifetime.
McKinney is now making 3 quarters of a million. 2 years ago he was making a buck 50.

Daddy - Sumlin did give guys great opportunities. KK gave guys Tech and Lubbock and a very real possibility that their careers will be ruined as, unlike Sumlin, KK has no track record and no players in Lubbock.
"Dick move" sums it up completely.
"Let your life be a counter friction to stop the machine." - Henry David Thoreau
So when Sumlin hired KK and Larry Jackson from UH, was that a dick move as well?
Guys, you're being a bit myopic here. This happens all the time. We do it. It's part of the coaching carousel.
You bring in "your guys" when you come in as a HC. Sumlin did it. So did Fran (from Alabama). Sherman did to a lesser degree.
The true test of a man's intelligence is how much he agrees with you.
"Careers ruined" is a bit strong. Even if KK falls flat on his face (as I hope he does), he and his position coaches are gaining valuable experience. This will help them all in their next jobs. First-time head coaches rarely have success right out-of-the-box. Even Bill Belicek (sp?) failed in Cleveland, before moving onto New England and creating a dynasty.
If Texas Tech fails over the next three years, and all the coaches are fired, they'll take a step back. If they're good coaches, however, they'll work their way back up the chain and have more experience under their belt.
Agree the "careers ruined" is a bit strong.
I don't blame the S&C asst. for taking a job there to be the main guy. I do believe Wally made a big mistake though. 1. He's working with an inexperienced coach, 2. He has no talent, 3. He is going to an offense-oriented league, 4. I can't think of any DC from that conference that has taken a HC job besides Muschamp to UF and DeRuyter to Fresno, 5. He just left Air Force as a DC so kind of odd he took this job with many uncertainties. and 6. He's going to Tech.
He would have been better off being part of a successful season and made himself more marketable.
Finally, KK is a prick and I am glad he's out of our program.
No. If Sumlin had hired a bunch of guys off Stoops staff when he went to U of H it would have been a dick move. Hiring coaches from other schools or taking your staff with you when you get a new job is fine. A dick move would be taking a job and poaching a bunch of guys off of the guy who got you the job.
One guy isn't a big deal. With Kliff it has been a pattern. I don't care about any of the guys he took with him. However, I will say it reflects poorly on him.
