Here is how the roster breaks down going into the 2013 season and 2014 recruiting class:
True Freshmen: 27 assuming everyone qualifies and not counting JJ
RS Freshmen: 8 including Jordan Richmond
Seniors: 13 I'm not counting Scales
That's 85 total so we're right on the money. With guys like Richmond questionable, Klinke(injury), Patterson(injury) and other injury, grade, off field issues we'll probably be a few under 85 this season.
So we're starting with 13 scholarships to give in 2014 plus attrition. We should easily get to 20 spots available but 25 may be pushing it.
Nice breakdown, 20 sounds about right. JJ will count towards the 85 once he goes scholly in January 14, but he should count back to the 2013 class
Also, we could end up with a walkon or two that ends up earning a scholly as well.
I don't see as much attrition this Spring as I do in Spring 2014. If the Ags have another highly successful season, we might oush the numbers a bit because we would be adding players that should be better than what's already on the roster. If there is any attrition this Spring, I imagine that walk-ons we have will be granted a one-year scholarship to at least keep 85.
