Every media member and outlet received this email from Texas A&M's compliance office yesterday:
"Recruits will visit the Texas A&M University campus this weekend and may attend an event at which you or other members of the media will be present. In order to reduce the likelihood of unintentional violations of NCAA rules and to allow these visiting prospective student-athletes to have a peaceful and pleasant visit, Texas A&M is providing you with the following information.
1. NCAA rules and regulations do not allow Texas A&M to publicize (or arrange for publicity of) specific prospective student-athletes’ visits to the Texas A&M's campus.
2. NCAA rules do not allow Texas A&M staff members or student-athletes to comment to the media about prospective student-athletes who have yet to sign with or be admitted to Texas A&M; therefore, please do not ask them to provide such comments.
3. Texas A&M may not arrange for members of the media, including those broadcasting Texas A&M athletic events, to secure interviews or other communication with, appearances by, or pictures/video of prospective student-athletes at any time.
4. During a prospective student-athlete’s visit, NCAA rules require that Texas A&M Athletics take steps to insure that none of the aforementioned activities occurs and that, if any media interaction with visiting prospective student-athletes does occur, that Texas A&M staff members take steps to stop such interaction during a prospect’s recruiting visit.
Therefore, please do NOT try to contact any prospective student-athletes while they are on the Texas A&M campus from 12 noon Friday, Jan. 25 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 (e.g., no phone calls, emails, Tweets, Facebook posts, in-person meetings, etc). If a prospective student-athlete chooses to post online about his or her visit, then that is the prospect’s decision. We ask that you do not follow up with the prospect or the prospect’s guests until Sunday evening after 7 p.m. central. Your cooperation in helping us follow NCAA guidelines of not arranging media coverage while a prospective student-athlete is on campus is greatly appreciated.
In order to promote compliance with these rules, Texas A&M will not credential any media member or entity that violates these rules."
In years past we've been able to stand outside the Bright Complex and pretty much have all access to the players as they arrived and left. Obviously, with the stricter SEC rules, we will not be able to cover the event live on the scene. I wanted to make you all aware of this ahead of time as we intend to fully comply to the rules. We'll still able to attain information through other mediums but it won't be covered the same as we've done it in the past. Thanks for your attention.

Lazy hands make for poverty,
