Lets get an update Hamm, not formal, just what your thoughts are off the top of your head...
Aren't even listed amongst his favorites. What's thebig deal?
he was said to be a Bama/LSU lean early....then Miss pops up and tags another top target in the country....I guess they aren't even trying to hide it in Oxford anymore.
Cash and Eagles must be abundant right now....and I'm not talking about silver eagles either.
Because BJ won't log onto facebook
Maybe posting's just not your game. I know, let's have a spelling contest.
So was reading on the Ole Miss board....they just had Clifton Garrett in town (the monster LB from IL).
So the #2 OLB in the country who lives in a suburb of Chicago is suddenly visiting a 7-6 Rebel squad....I don't give a damn how good a recruiter Freeze is, it's just flat ballsy at this point.
I love the SEC

I'm definitely not saying there isn't $ on the table but I don't think we can say that is clearly what's going on.
So much of recruiting is irrespective of wins/losses - it's all about the "it" factor. Ole Miss has it right now and largely lucked into it. Last year, they got Nkemdiche because he ended up wanting to play with his brother and Ole Miss was just lucky enough to recruit him previously when he was clearly underrated and under recruited (since he has turned into a stud and I think led the team in tackles last year). One of their other top recruits had a best friend that was on the Ole Miss team. And when you get a couple of the top players in the country going there, those players often start recruiting other top guys (like Matt Davis did with the Ag Swag movement) and they frequently know the top guys since they have competed with and against them at camps, combines, etc.
So that's how Ole Miss got the guys they did last year and this is just a carry over because now top recruits are (a) thinking of Ole Miss when they never would have even given them a chance before (b) think Ole Miss could be better in the future because they've shown flashes of great promise last year and obviously recruited some studs and (c) Ole Miss can play the same card as A&M by saying you want to play in the best conference (SEC) and the best division of the best conference (west division) in the country.
However, if Ole Miss can't materialize that success this season and start loosing, particularly against top competition like A&M, I think the "it" factor will start to go away again. And if it doesn't and they have a bad year and STILL end up with a top 10 class, then I think you don't have just smoke there may be recruiting violations going on - you have a fire.
Ole Miss grinds. BJ spring breaks.
"Recruited by head coach Huge Freeze and assistant Matt Luke, Bauer is the seventh commit for the Rebels in the class-of-2014 and the second offensive lineman, joining Texas offensive tackle Tyler Putnam.
"The family atmosphere down there," Bauer said. "Coach Freeze recruited me and I talked to him a ton, and Coach Luke I almost talked to him every day and they're really close. There is something special in doing something new and fresh and I feel with the recruits they're bringing in and with the atmosphere they have down there it felt like the right fit for me. I talked to my family about it and I'm going to Mississippi."
bj took his mom on a princess cruise to cozumel - no cell srvc
First of all, I am aware that anything is possible in recruiting. Ole Miss, Bama, hell us for that matter, may be "buying" players. I will say, however, that Ole Miss is very much like us in that they have a dynamic head coach who IS a great recruiter-they have momentum and are an "it" program right now, at least with the ones that matter, and that is the kids being recruited. The campus is beautiful, it is in the SEC, and as they say, they redshirt Miss Americas! Like it or not they are coming and are a future force to contend with...
