Taking some shots at MU:
"Our bad years are not that bad. Take a school like Missouri. Our bad years are better than their good years."
Guess he didn't pay attention to MU or their head to heads during the last year of the B12.
DeLoss Dodds mulled the question for a moment, then seized upon it. Just what is the state of a Longhorns union that from the outside looks fractured or at least frayed at the edges?
hahahaha, firing at the low hanging fruit
Your logic is boggling my mind
Yeah they had a segment on the Brando show basicly what I got out of it was he should just retire haha
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It is already tomorrow in Australia. - charles m Schulz
lol... mizzou's good year of 12-2 is worse than 5-7? ;)
Not the classiest way to get his point across.... his point that sip fans are now disappointed at 9-4 while 9-4 is good for some programs is just spin and there was no need to single out a former conference mate that you're mad at.
So, uh, any of y'all have connects at insane asylums?
Troubling quotes indeed..
Kind of like how only a "small sliver of East Texas" is interested in the SEC.
I mean, the guy's clearly losing it at this point. Or he's just constantly trolling the world, neither would surprise me.

Dang, guy seems out of touch on some things or is a politician.
For you Family Guy watchers, I would compare this to the episode when Lois' rich dad goes broke and has no idea how to handle it.
Took a subtle jab at A&M too for firing Slocum as part of his justification for why Mack should stay.
“Oh, we don’t think that way,” Dodds said, aware of Texas’ three-game losing streak to OU. “Next year we will be having a different conversation. Look at the programs that made changes: Lloyd Carr at Michigan, Phil Fulmer at Tennessee, R.C. Slocum at A&M. They all had great runs and then two or three average years and have been through two or three coaches since. Mack’s our coach. He’s the best person we can have in that position.”
Crazy. I really would love it if they fired Mack next year and publicly offered Sumlin just to hear him say "NOSIR!"

The reason Texas fans are mad is the 3-year run of mediocrity, not the 9 - 4 season last year. The last 3 years Texas is 22 - 16. Since Pinkel got the Missouri program rolling in 2005 their worst 3-year run is 23 - 15, so better than Texas' current run. Missouri's 3-year runs starting in the 2005 - 2007 seasons is 27-12, 30-11, 30-11, 28-12, 26-13, and 23-15 (2010 - 2012). All of those are better than the level Texas is playing at now. Plus, last year's 5 - 7 season was in the SEC against a brutal schedule. Not only is he not classy, he's just wrong!

Is he trolling? Probably so, but he knows people like y'all will run with it. I find it amusing, but then again, it also shows what is on their mind. If Missouri is on their mind, then you know the SEC in general is eating at them in a way we couldn't have anticipated
If he thinks a declining Mack is the best his program can do, then godspeed to you sir.
Speaking as an average Texas fan, we desperately want him to retire- much more so than Mack Brown.
I'm sure the former would lead to the latter
Why not just can Deloss and make Mack AD?
That is part of it. The other part is their mediocre season last year was against mediocre teams. They played no one and ended up 9-4 with a horrible bowl win.
All the while, knowing that A&M is playing great competition and doing better than ever!
I bet those season ticket holders are going to start becoming scarce when $100+ tickets will only cover Baylor or TCU. And the $150 tickets are TTU, WVU, OKState and the Kansas schools.
It's a lot of money for ticket holders to spend on crappy games.
and make Major Applewhite the next HC
He and Mack Brown are a package deal. Think about it: Dobbs is a 75 yr old at the end of his professional career. There is no way that he will fire Mack because then he will be responsible for the next HC hire. What reasonable high profile coach would want to go into a high expectations role knowing that it is extremely likely that the person who hired you will not be there in 4 years (maybe less)? Whomever the new AD would be will bring in "his guys", especially if you get off to a rocky start.
Horn fans that want to see any change in their coaching tree need to pray that Dobbs moves on sooner than later.
The old fool's blood pressure must be elevated by A&M's SEC-cess. He's at higher risk of a coronary, and his psychiatrist needs to up his dose.
Is anyone close enough to Austin to count the buzzards circling?
