Ok so the season is over, we know that Demonster is leaving and Jake is staying. I havent heard anything on Luke so we will have to wait and see but i will give 2 different Oline depth chart going into the spring or summer based on my opinion.
This is the hopeful depth chart
If Joeckel leaves, which i think he should, I think that Ifedi gets the first shot in the spring, but they will try matthews and Ogbuehi as well just to see what line makes the best fit. In my personal opinion i think the final line would be Ogbuehi at LT, Harrison at LG, Matthews at C, Compton at RG, and Matthews at RT.
Compton should be the swing guy on the inside if Luke stays, with Ifedi and Cheek being the two backups at the tackle spot. Reguardless of what happens i think we have great depth and a chance at having the best Oline in the nation once again. Combine that with everyone else we have coming back and coming in, The AGGIES are the team to beat next year. BAMA will be good again, LSU will be good even with the guys they are losing to the draft, but the AGS are ready to make a run at the natty.
I dont know anything about Luke's development prospects with 2013 in college vs NFL, but I dont know if he can improve his current draft prospects (b/c he's already projected so high). The Ags would have a better shot at the Natty with him, no doubt, but he'd have to defer a LOT of money to return. Either way, I'll cheer for him.
What was the word on M. Matthews at the end of the year? How was he looking? He would have some big shoes to fill in P lew.
Mike will have very big shoes to fill but the whole reason he was not redshirted was because they knew he would have to step in and hit the ground running this spring. He will make mistakes but it helps that he could possibly have 4 returning starters around him to correct him if he did. If Luke comes back we will have no problem. If he leaves then there wont be a huge problem but having 2 new guys on a line will always come with some growing pains.
How difficult would it be for Ifedi to move inside and start at RG if Ced moves out to tackle? I'd rather not start a freshman at tackle when we have the option to start Jake and Ced out there. Compton obviously is a decent option at guard but GI is just so big, strong and athletic I want to see him starting somewhere and it seems like putting him on the same career path as Cedric would be the way to go.
If he comes back, it's not to improve his draft prospects, it's simply to enjoy his senior year and make a run at the national title with his band of brothers who turned this program around.
In a way, I think Alabama's game last night actually helped our chances with Luke--it sets up September 14 as the biggest game in school history and one of the biggest, most epic SEC showdowns in years. If Luke leaves right now, he's remembered as a school hero. If he stays, and if we win that game, he's a legend.
As Babe Ruth told Benny in The Sandlot, "heroes get remembered, but legends never die."
If Luke goes you'll see Jake slide to LT and Ogbuehi move out to RT imo

I honestly don't think P. Lewis gets near enough credit for his consistency and ability to recognize alignment and scheme for the O-Line. The moat crucial part of the ballgame is the snap. I learned this by running yo yos and gassers in high school until we got it right.
I don't recall ever seeing us have a snap exchange issue. Hopefully Matthews can limit these as well and earn the "general" nickname like Lewis.
Some people hear their own inner voices with great clearness. And they live by what they hear. Such people become crazy... or they become legend.
Listen to the voices Luke. One more year.
Yuuuuuuuup. That's one of the biggest reasons Jake is coming back. Full year of tape at LT to go with three years of RT tape will bump him even further up the draft board next year.
Also, this was tweeted by a respected draft guy:

Latest from College Station; Luke Joeckel/T choosing an agent while all signs point to Jake Matthews/T returning for his senior season..
this. I think Pat Lewis was a very important cog and replacing him, even with a Matthews, will be a tough job.
hopefully BJ Anderson is up to the challenge of rejigging the line.
I personally dont know the kid or how good he looks in practice. But going off of what everyone has said and what i read about him, that wouldnt be out of the question. But there is a huge difference between playing guard or center and playing tackle, that being said it is easier for a tackle to play guard than vice versa. GI seems like a physical guy so he shouldnt have too much problem playing in the middle. Playing in the middle of the line can help young guys because it decreases the chance your weaknesses are exposed by having a guy on either side of you to help. Playing at tackle you are on an island 9/10 times so your weaknesses are exposed more.
So joeckel is gone?
If Luke hires an agent he's done
its not official but we should know before the end of the day.
