Your task is to stop an offense that will once again feature one of the most formidable OLs in the nation including an Outland favorite at LT. Behind them will be a quartet of RB's featuring the senior returning starter, and a trio of sophomores that consists of two 5* home run hitters and a big bruising 230+ pounder. This offense also features two 6'5' WRs, a 6'4" WR, and two 6'3" WRs. Add in a stable of slot WRs that include the guy who beat your All-World CB one-on-one for the game-deciding TD last year, a pair of Under Armour All-American burners, a sub 4.4 kid from Hawaii, a shifty WR from southlake carroll, and a kid named Beep-Beep. Throw in a 6'4" and a 6'6" TE who are excellent blockers with the ability to catch if called upon. All of this wrapped in a wide open, fast paced, balanced, spread attack which we know you hate. Oh yeah... and I almost forgot. There's the reigning Heisman trophy winner at QB and he has a full offseason with all the first team reps for the first time. Your move Nicky.
I'm pretending but I don't like this.
Extremely hot and lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth going on around me.
Can I stop?
Play 13 guys and pay the refs.
Win we shall, yes we can, yes we will.
He can't stop it with his defense. He will give up points but he'll try to minimize big plays.
His best defense will be his OFFENSE. Alabama's running game should be even better this year with their best running back in my opinion returning (he was just a freshman last year), and they've got 4 rockstar running backs in their 2013 class. Expect them to try to run it right down our throats, especially with some young and inexperienced guys in our D-line and linebackers, and just dominate time of possession. If they can do that, they will have a chance. If we can get them off the field, we will win.
But the one thing to remember with that though is that while we break in a young front 7, they break in a young OL and new OL coach too. They'll only have one game to try to mesh together. This year reminds me a lot of the year after their first Saban title when they brought back McElroy, Ingram, Richardson, Julio, and most of their big names and were considered title favorites, but they lost a lot in the trenches which was overlooked. With them losing 3/5 of their OL and most of their DL that could be big early on.
I agree. I'm not saying they will be successful - but it's what they will try. The game will be decided in the trenches.
Saban will work the 3-3-5 and sub in his speedy linebackers out when he plays us and Ole Miss. He has the talent to match up with us on D. I don't think he can stop us, but his team will be ready.
Definitely. Little Matthews and whoever takes the RG spot will need to step up. Our young studs at DT will need to help stuff the run so Snyder can play with coverages and confuse McCarron.
You have to try to do what LSU did and keep Manziel between the numbers, make him make difficult throws and punish him when he runs you can't let him get to the edge and run out of bounds all the time. Even then you're really just hoping A&M makes mistakes. Of course LSU had some super freaks at defensive end and Kevin Minter running around on defense so not everybody can do it.
One thing's for sure though, OU provided a blue print of what not to do.

We won in the last minute of the game last year. Don't get cocky. They are loaded with talent.
It will be a good game, but we are far from unstoppable. They will practice for our game all off season and into fall camp. They'll be ready. Hopefully we will be doing the same.
But when he does that he'll be undersized against our run game which we know McKinney will love to exploit. He will truly have to pick his poison against our O because we can do so many different things with so many different personnel packages and do all of them very well. Ben Malena said it best: "No matter what the defense does, they're wrong. And even if they're right, we have Johnny Manziel."
P.S. If they go 3-3-5, I'd LOVE to see Sunseri try to cover RSJ in the flex or Larue/Gonzalez in the slot. Hahahaha
I think A&M fans can probably be a little cocky on offense. Alabama came back because A&M forgot who Amari Cooper was.
I do think it could be a shootout at Kyle Field, because Alabama poses some serious matchup problems on offense as well.
I'm not being cocky. I'm just saying how do you defend that schematically? Saban has the best athletes in the nation to work with and we can still provide mismatches all over the place. It's less about Bama and more about looking at the plethora of weapons we have in our arsenal. It's going to be another close game of course, but I believe we will be even more successful offensively against them next year.
I really do get the feeling it could turn into a shoot out. You'd have to think we are better suited for that kind of game, but it will all be predicated on if we can stop the run.

Is this her?
sippish post by the OP. Be humble. Gonna be a battle. Not sure if you noticed but they signed some pretty good players too, and have been doing it for years.

tf? Where in my post did I ever talk bad about Bama? Where did I ever say we were going to beat them down? All I did was lay out all the weapons we have at our disposal and ask how would you defend it? I don't see where I said anything that wasn't true. It's not "sippish" to feel confident in our abilities. We are going to have a damn good offense that even they will have a hard time stopping. Sorry if that fact offends you.
This game will be decided by the performance of our front seven on defense. We lost two starting LBs and two DTs from a 3 man rotation. Being a week 3 game the new starters are going to have to really gel quickly. We will score a lot of points on offense, no doubt. But, will we be able to prevent them from doing to same? Their RBs and OL could really wreak havoc if we don't have some guys step up in a hurry.
When I pretended to be Saban, they wouldn't let me on the roller coaster at Busch Gardens.
We get em early with an Oline that hasn't worked much together. I like our chances period with our O. You have to have 5 stud corners to slow us down. Not 2. Spread em out and and be faster and more conditioned then they are. Plus we got the 12th man X 85,000.
Interestingggg hmmmm!!! I can dig this.

I applaud your taste in white bearded clam sauce.
If I were Nick Saban, the first thing I would do is schedule an open date before playing us next year @ Kyle Field.
Can I pretend I am getting his paycheck?
