Even if they win today, even if they get the #1 seed, they'll lose the first game. No heart and poor QB. They'll never make the next step with Shaub pulling the trigger.
I support this message
Crybabies... Schaub is better than half of the other quarterbacks in the league. Every team wants an Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, etc. But, only a few teams get those hall of famers.
defense and running game still can win you championships in the league.

From IH-35 to IH-10... what then?
What was the last team that won a super bowl with a quarterback like Matt Schaub? Trent Dilfer's Ravens?
Elite QBs win superbowls. Shaubs don't.
Win we shall, yes we can, yes we will.
Yep. And the texans defense ain't nearly that good. And to the earlier poster, you're right, everyone does want QBs that can win a football game for you... Including the Texans.
Hostettler? Doug Williams? Dilfer? Mark rypien? Jim Plunkett? brad Johnson? Jim McMahon? Not elite. It's still a team sport. Not saying the Texans will win...just that it's an elite team that wins.
Your most recent example was a decade ago, and again, that defense was head and shoulders better than the Texans D.
Game has changed. In the last 10 years how many have won it? Maybe 1.
Agreed. When Schaub is at his best, he's an above average quarterback. When he's off like he was today, he's borderline awful.
An elite QB and the Texans would be unstoppable.
You are either going to be a leader or not. to be a leader, you throw your shoulders back, tits to the sky, head up, cock out.
So tell me geniuses... How do we get an elite QB? Oh, that's right you can't just pick them off trees.
would you trade schaub for Vick? How about Kolb? If the answer is no, then please stop complaining and start praying.
I don't think this team is going anywhere if they play like they did today but like someone stated above... When the cylinders are firing the Texans are red hot.
a little luck and your in.
plus, schaub is just as good as Eli manning and he had won two. Eli can't wipe the dirt off Peytons shoes but yet he hits his stride and the team finds a way.
Eli Manning won 2
The true test of a man's intelligence is how much he agrees with you.
Eli is much better than Shaub. Really bad comparison for you. He's very clutch.
I'm sitting here laughing that you compared Shaub to a Manning.
Might as well compare John Balls Manziel to Case McCoy.
I'm a Bucs fan. You guys could have Freeman. Please, take him, actually. PLEASE!
Yeah the Schaub/Eli comparison is not even close
I would trade Schaub for Freeman in a heartbeat
You haven't watched many Bucs games... He is Mr. Inconsistent. You never know which guy will show up.
It's unbelievable how well they underutilize Vince Jackson.
He's one of the most dominant receivers out of the slot.
I havent liked shaub for the last 3 years, he never shows up in big games or big moments. I wonder what will happen if we lose our first playoff game because of schaub, which would mean our only playoff win ever is still with a rookie qb
I'd post more on this thread, but anyone who thinks Schaub and Eli are comparable is beyond reason. The Texans should play Yates next week and see what he can do. After all, he's got more post-season than Schaub.
I'm a huge Texans fan, and I don't think Schaub will ever lead them to a Super Bowl. But I don't think Schaub is the main problem here. I believe it's the offensive line, the right side to be exact. Foster had 10 rushes for 15 yards today. That's more concerning to me than Schaub's poor performance which is also a result of poor offensive line play.
Your will to win will define you tomorrow.
The right side of the line sucks, but EVERY time he's flushed from the pocket, he might as well throw it away because his downfield vision is nonexistent. I get that he is slow, but damn dude, take off once or twice so the safeties at least have to think you may run. Further, if you break right every time the pocket collapses, NFL D-Coordinators will shade the safeties that way (not that he's looking anyway).
