With Alexander being a disappointment, who do y'all see stepping up? Chevis? Is this a position we should be worried about?
SEC SEC SEC!!!
I thought Brandon Alexander was a WDE?
I don't see Chevis stepping in right away. Here's my 2 Deep with who we have right now. It could change with the addition of Savage, and Richardson's injury status for next season.
Sam - Flowers, Richardson
Mike - Jenkins, Richmond
Will - Sanders/Baggs
I forgot about Flowers, but you think he comes in and starts right away? Is Richardson going to be able to play again?
SAM - Flowers/Baggs, E. Williams
MIKE - Jenkins, Richmond, Chevis/Ward, Savage?
WILL - Sanders, Wade/Claiborne
it's a wag.
was a neck injury right? I have serious doubts he's back playing next year, but who knows with medicine these days.
If Richardson cannot play, I think you'll see Flowers in the mix somewhere. If Savage commits, he might make a push for the Sam spot too without Richardson.
I forgot about Baggs, I bet he would start over Flowers. Thanks for the assessment Ollie.
Nothing wrong with this because we have a staff that cross trains... I would say (also, below is not in order, just who I think will be placed where):
Sam: Sanders, Richmond, E. Williams
Mike: Baggs, Flowers, Chevis, Savage (if we get him)
Will: Jenkins, Wade, Claiborne
Leaving off Richardson until we know more. I will say this, we will have some major speed on the field at the LB position with Jenkins, Wade, and Sanders... Guys are fast.
I think Baggs starts no matter what. Jenkins as well.
I like the variations and you guys going back-n-forth with who's gonna start problems. These are good problems. We now have stacked positions with fast versatile playmakers. With savage...nasty! But I love this group of lbs. Watch our special teams too.
Was going to say the same thing. In so glad we don't know who will be starting. Hopefully this translates into competition and second and third teams that are competent
Sanders and Flowers.
You don't recruit JUCO's to be backups. That's what underclassmen are for.
see Otis Jacobs and Derel Walker and Johntel Franklin.
Jucos typically take time to adjust and make their biggest impact after being in the program for a year. Coming in at midterm helps a lot but that's not always enough. Just look at KSU this year, they started something like 8 or 9 juco transfers but didn't start a single juco transfer who was in his first year at KSU.
The good thing about flowers and sanders is that they are arguably the top juco lbs at their position. Should push to start.
Sanders and Flowers are a few notches above the three you mentioned.
jacobs was supposed to be the shit when we signed him
Whats make you say that, Flowers offer list? Stephen Jenkins was not a starter intially upon arriving on campus either.
