From the Dallas news:
There has been little said by Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin since his team defeated Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl.
Since then his freshman, Heisman winning, quarterback has been in national headlines everywhere due to his partying and lavish ways of living since coming to the forefront of college football’s attention.
Last week Sumlin made his first comments regarding Manziel’s actions off the field when he spoke to Chris Baldwin of CultureMap Houston.
“A lot of people are complaining, saying (Manziel’s) got to this, he’s got to do that,” Sumlin said. “They’re not 20 years old.
“Who’s to say how he’s supposed to react? It’s never been done before. How do you know how he’s supposed to react? Have you ever been in his shoes?
“He’s the first.”
Manziel is the first freshman to ever win the Heisman Trophy meaning no one has ever had this particular fame. But Manziel surely isn’t the first 20-year-old with national attention and that doesn’t mean Sumlin is unaware of his actions.
“As long as Johnny Manziel is doing everything Sumlin expects of him, everything the program needs, the coach will more than have his back,” Baldwin said. “And there isn’t a hotshot player in America who cannot appreciate that.”
Manziel will likely continue to live his life and deal with the fame how he has for several months now. He certainly has the backing of his head coach who has present a side of the story many have yet to consider.
If Manziel is doing everything he is supposed to on the football field and according to proper rules and laws, where’s the problem?

Hahah I tried posting the link but i was doing it on my phone so I just copied and pasted it!!
I'm pretty sure once spring ball and the season comes that all of this will be cut down super quick. The party poopers on the board really need the season to start.
I agree!! If I was his age and heisman fame I would be living it with great memories to tell my kids! You only live once and this vato is living it!!
Exactly. As long as he's within the rules and laws there's absolutely nothing wrong with it
Good gawd Aubrey! PM him please and don't ruin a dang good thread.
Achoo - Aubrey didn't mean to high jack your thread. She's mad that Johnny has yet to take a picture with her.

Thread restored. The Manziel stuff is so stupid. Sites do it because people will literally read anything about Manziel, but there's really not a problem here. I think Hyman even said a couple of weeks ago that he never sat down with Manziel's parents.
People just like their page views. If our ad sales meant extra pay for me on a direct basis I'd put a Johnny Manziel story on the front page once a week of him partying and then just say a bunch of random crap in the story. "Do you see Alabama players out partying in New Orleans? No you don't..."
It'd probably get 100,000 page views every week.

Hahaha he deleted it I thought it was funny it felt like I was in high school all over again
Sumlin gets it. He just flat out gets it. He also knows that Manziels pub is good for the team as a whole. He knows that recruits see what is going on. He knows they see that Manziel is a freaking rock star.
Exactly Button. Manziel and his publicity is the best thing for the University right now as long as he doesn't do anything stupid or get into any kind of trouble. I think they have a hold on that. If I were in his shoes my wiener would have probably already have fallen off.
Keep him under control and do the right thing Johnny. I think his parents, Sumlin, and Hyman have a good eye on him.
