“Honestly [tu's offer] doesn’t really matter though because I won’t go there. I won’t even visit." “I want to play big time ball in the SEC"
Considering the mud hole ou stomps in tu every year, I place more emphasis in winning the ou head to heads
I remember a report somewhere talking about Major stopping by to see Garner to gauge interest. Obviously the answer was no so there was no offer.
If I was sip fan I'd be pissed that they didn't recruit guys off a top 10 class. Are they actually tooting their horn over that? Wtf?
They're trying to make themselves feel better about becoming a distant 2nd in Texas as a desireable location for talent.
It's an apples to oranges comparison. Mack Brown will pass on offering a kid if he doesn't think he can sway/land them. The guy's the absolute definition of front-runner.
Here's the difference in strategies:
Sumlin will offer the best 4 WR's and take the first 2 to commit. Let's talk about how hard the staff would've laughed if Jake Oliver had tried to send in his LOI on signing day. Mack Brown will take the best 4 WR's into his office, and offer the 2 who will commit to them (or are leaning heavily toward them). Great job, Mack! You're 2/2! Meanwhile, tell me about which WR class you'd prefer.
Are you kidding? I could hear that arrow a mile away.
From IH-35 to IH-10... what then?
There is no damn way Sumlin offered Oliver. Even his asshat father Gary said Sumlin didn't recruit him. We're not in the market for a 4.9 WR. Not with our offense, not in the SEC.
"Mack said they're going back to if kids look around they'll lose a scholarship. Old policy back in place."
So does this mean he's not going to recruit players committed elsewhere? Or is it ok if he does it, but not anyone else? What a bitch.

It was Sherman that indicated an offer and Sumlin let it stand. Hamm correct me if I have it wrong. When the contingent from Jesuit came to that incredible Summer Camp in 2011, everyone knew something was amiss as 3 Jesuit players including Gustafson and The Maestro came and Oliver backed out at the last moment and wouldn't discuss the why or wherefore. The Maestro said he was caught off-guard and let down as there was a group that called themselves the Fab 4 and he let the group down. They had played ball together since the 5th grade and it was supposed to be "1 for all, and all for 1", but Oliver let his "friends" down; they found out the hard way that there are backstabbers and they can be lifelong friends. Just a little note and an "I damn glad" we didn't get Oliver. Hammer if you have anything to add I sure everyone would like to know any thing else about that situation.
Remember a sip coach literally called Taveras garner at a 7 on 7 tournament last summer, weeks after he visited Austin and left without an offer and days after he committed to A&M, telling him they wanted him to come play for them. He told them to fuck off, but that counts as an offer IMO.
Will Huggins qualify at OU?
