Take a quick read as to Aggie Rundown's current thoughts on State Representative Ryan Guillen's latest move.
It's just the latest chapter in a long story that is far from ended.
Does anyone really think that Guillen set a bill in motion just for the fun of it? He HAS to have a bunch of supporters somewhere behind the scenes.
Find me on Twitter @AggiePundit
Probably a bunch of fish camp kids
I'd like to spit some Beech-Nut in that dude's eyes. STAY OUTTA OUR FOOTBALL, DEAD-BEAT!!!
I would absolutely LOVE to see a bunch of fish camp kids storm the Capitol... that would be epic
I think there is a different angle here. Instead of thinking about it as an Aggie trying to get the game back, it's actually the state of Texas who is trying to get the game back. Frankly, I don't think the State Legislature has Texas A&M's interests at heart, they just want to get the issue over with and get back to making money and notoriety for the state.
This is the Legislature saying "don't make me come back there..." I don't see this bill passing just yet, but it's sure not going to be the last we see of this. If the Legislation wants something done, they will get it done.
I sincerly hope you're right pundit & I never thought of that angle
more of a "threat"..... for now anyways
because an Ag is behind this I sincerly hope this particular bill dies but the administrations get something figured out without political interventions
Perry can veto
Politicians propose ludacris legislation all the time. Sometimes it is completely cynical (knowing it will fail) on the merits of its expected success in becoming law. Look @ what Ted Cruz is promoting in the US Senate re:Obamacare. It ain't gonna be repealed, but Cruz is proposing legislation to motivate his base, get him some press, and burnish his conservative credentials. I suspect the liberal move to restrict a citizen's right to bear arms is also done purely for the theatrical value. Finally, a good distraction can provider cover for a weak politician to hide behind. Are things going poorly for voters in Guillen's district? Is his record crap? If yes, then a good distraction can take the constituent's focus away from how abysmal a politician is performing his duties. . .
I am tired of hearing about this already. Do NOT want.
This is just the beginning of something I have been espousing ever since we went to the BCS system and a MNC. The money is getting to great for govt not to get involved with to get a "share" of the spoils for not doing a damn thing. You guys bitch, piss, and moan about Socilaism, well here is another cog in the wheel, govt kknows what's best for you and we will make it happen. Bull F..king Shiite.
