Just to be a bit of a devils advocate here but sabans teams are never ever rusty. You guys will find this out playing them every year now. Be the first or last game he has a way of getting the absolute best out of his players. As an lsu fan I am not saying you can't beat them cause you can but yoyr going to have to be on yoyr absolute A game no matter what and your d needs to grow up very quick cause they cone out the gates strong every year.
Not what I was saying...I was pointing out the asinine prediction that our offense will be rusty. Why would our offense with the returning Heisman winner, a strong OL and a ridiculous stable of RB's be rusty?
I understand just how good Saban is and how great Bama teams are but to sit here and act scared of them is ridiculous.
Sabans going to get processed
I like that we don't have an off week before we play them. I don't like that they do. We need to jump out front fast again. Its 50/50, which is just fine with me. Gonna be a great game.

Agreed...our defense needs as much game time as possible.
The game atmosphere is going to be un-freaking-real. I can't get up and walk for a bit just thinking about it.

Until I can see and assess the front 7, I don't think we can win this game. I'm not enthusiastic with what we have in the front 7. We lost a handful of key contributors and we have no depth at this time. Recipe for disappointment.
Hope like hell I'm wrong.
You dudes realize a bye week for a program the caliber of Bama effectively neutralizes a Kyle Field home-field advantage, right?
If we win this game it's because we played better that day. Similar to last year.
Take a trip with me back to off season 2012...
Fear not brother, for The Beast of The East is coming...
Im with you bud. truth be told I felt similar last year as well. Our guys stepped up despite certain question marks and depth limitations and over achieved. We had virtually no injuries too. We got lucky what can I say? About time the football gods smiled on us. However Stewart, Porter, Nealy, Mathis, Moore etc ain't walking through the doors of Bright fellas. We lost about 95+ starts between Porter Stewart and Moore alone.

I really like golden too. But he's a true freshman and been relying off of shear size and talent in HS. He needs some coaching.

Didn't say our offense isn't "top-flight," or that bama would be a well-oiled machine, only that if their OL is even decent this could be a better offense than last year for them.
Hence my worries about our defense.
You bring up coaching? I am not worried about our coaching or theirs. But I think they have fewer weaknesses, and am waiting to see something (Anything) that will prove me wrong.
Forgive me for being the cautious type.

I have Ags by 2 TD's for this reason: Our weaknesses (front 7) play to their weaknesses (o-line), and our strengths play to their strengths.
You might say that's even for both teams, but it's not when it's early in the season. Defenses are always a step ahead early and their o-line won't have a great chance to gel after 1 game. That gives us the advantage when they have the ball.
Our offense hasn't lost a ton, so we should pretty much pick up where we left off, and we have two games to get up to snuff. We all saw how we moved the ball on them last year, so the advantage there is on our side as well.
30-16 Ags, bertolet misses and xp, they get 3 fg's and a td.
We didn't have any depth last year, but with 3 new o-lineman, they're not going to be great after one game.
The bye week helps, but that early it won't help as much.
They're going to be coming into kyle after smashing va tech thinking they'll steamroll us, just like last year coming off beating LSU thinking they had it wrapped up.
A&M wins this one going away. Yes, I'm serious. I've heard the Saban preparation for year 2, yada yada yada. Kyle and these Ags will be more than ready. 34-10.
