From the Mississippi State site. Still listing A&M as his number one. I'm very interested in what A&M decides to do here. No doubt Sanders is a great player and even better teammate and student. Wallerstedt has been on the Butler CC LB for some time now but there were mixed opinions on whether or not he would be a good fit in the SEC. Those sentiments came before the start of the season so there's always the chance the Aggie staff has changed their tune. The 4-star defender has had a very good season so it would come as no surprise to see him become a take once the staff gets time to visit with Sanders. That decision won't be made until he gets on campus so we'll keep you all updated.

He really is pretty small. Maybe they could play him like OU's Jefferson or somewhat like Floyd this year: a hybrid safety/linebacker that plays in the box.
Scoop it seems we are playing a game of "froggy" out there at LB. Lots of offers waiting for the first one to jump. It won't be long for that to happen and when it does do we close it down after 1 or 2?

damn... with 29 verbal commits, we still have the follwing either scheduled to visit and/or still being recruited quite hard by the staff:
a few other JUCOs I'm sure I'm forgetting.
it's going to be fun to see how this shakes out.
special teams? and passing downs.
I actually agree with this if he is a Dec grad and you have the room, Baggs has been coming in on 3rd down passing situations for Jstew, I think this guy could play that roll if he is even quicker and better in coverage.
Your logic is boggling my mind
I love me some Tommy Sanders. Biggest playmaker at LB in the juco ranks. Sure he's undersized(Butler lists him at 6'2" 217) but he's a lot like Lavonte David from NU a couple of years ago who was undersized but was an immediate impact player in their defense coming in from juco.
Isn't that what Bama does with CJ Moseley? He barely played against LSU but was in on every snap against us.
It appeared Mosley was the "spy" or was supposed to account for JFF, turned out to be a terrrrrrible mismatch.
At some point you need mikes and sams and not wills and wills and wills.
we have Wade, Claiborne, Flowers that are all wills.
But if he can play, get him

I think Jackson turns a guy like this to 230 lbs of muscle if he has them for 8 months before next season. I am a believer in Jackson. he knows what he is doing.
would we take swain too?
If he's a legit 6-2 217 you guys do realize hes about the same size as lsus linebackers, right?
Thoughts on Rahmon Swain? TOS is indicating wherever they go, it will be a package deal.

That's truly crazy. It's almost another full class.
Of course there is a decent chance that each of Griffin, Huggins and v. Davis don't make it in.
Whether they are qualification risks doesn't matter for our signing numbers. Coaches would have to ask them not to sign. Right?
Or just tell them now: "listen guys, you don't make grades, we're not sending you an LOI to sign."
No high school coach anywhere could be offended by that. Most of the time, they're the ones most upset with their players who squander their talents by failing to qualify.
Tommy Sanders film= TAKE
but they won't know in early Feb... they might be close and only need some As in the spring, a re-take of the ACT, etc. You don't want to not send an LOI for them to sign if the kid and his family and coaches think they only need a few points on their ACT.
LSU can be successful with smaller/faster LBs in part b/c their D-line is monstrous (both size and speed). Right now, A&M needs bigger/stronger LBs. 2 years from now, A&M can either recruit freek LBs (think Wallace/Roper/Coryatt), or small/fast. This will occur once we get the 2013 Dline studs up and running.
