One guy I would love to see on our staff is the OC at Utah. Would prob like him as a co-OC with Beaty and let Beaty keep recruiting.
Beaty would probably be promoted if we lose Kliff
Kliff is 32/33. He's young. Talented yes, but not a seasoned vet.
Tech and La Tech type schools will have him on the short list in 3 years if the next guy doesn't work out anyways. Those jobs aren't appreciating. Kliff is. He'll get his day in the son. Ride the Johnny wave.
You know Lubbock sucks when a guy wants to get out of there and leaves for Ohio.... Man, Tubbs must have really hated it there! Leaving the Big 12 for the Big East... Haha! FWIW, I think he made the right call. :)
My money would be on Chad Morris to TT
Petrino would be a good hire for them, but word is their OC Neal Brown is the front runner right now
At this point Chad Morris is a better pick than Kliff. Obviously, a big part of us wants to keep Kliff for ourselves, but I think his limited OC experience is detrimental. I can't see him turning down going back to TT if he gets offered, but for his sake I hope he wouldn't go the La Tech route.
this is hilarious. leaving tech for cincy.
Tibbs leaving Tech for a school, in a conference many consider inferior is rather telling. However, Cincy has been a springboard into big time jobs. That and Lubbock is literally Hell on Earth.
Success always comes with a price. People notice your key staff members, and envy turns into thievery. It's flattering and unsettling all at the same time.
Here's to hoping Tubbs is successful in Cincy, but more importantly that Kliff likes the College Station scene for at least a few more years...
Sonny Dykes may be able to get out of his contract with Cal.
Neal Brown is about to take the Kentucky OC job. Would he turn that down to be HC of TT? He doesn't want to be in Lubbock at all otherwise he wouldn't be taking a job at the worst major college football program in the country so he can get out of there.
Tubbs could be concerned about his job security at tceh also considering that incident with his asst. Or, that controversy created too much heat for him and decided to get out of dodge while he still had an offer on the table.
Still, I'm still astounded.
I like kk and want him to stay, but think that this offense thrives because of Johnny, oline. Jff improvises to victory. That won't change. I think players are making coach more than coach making players.
The last two QB's KK has coached have been Heisman candidates....I'd hate to lose him.
My sentiments exactly. It's a mutually beneficial relationship. KK and Sumlin have called some good games. Especially after the first part of the season. JFF has allowed them more liberties than most due to his ability to improvise b
If you want the reason he wants out of Lubbock is pretty easy.. "if momma ain't happy, nobody's happy"...
Unfortunately, theres come out of Lubbock recently involving the wife of Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville. Nearly four months ago, Suzanne Tuberville allegedly ran a red light and crashed into a car in which 87-year-old Ira Purdy was a passenger.

I certainly hope tech isn't able to lure KK away from us, its got to be a tough decision for him. If i were in his position, but as the OC at tech instead, there would be no question that I would go home to Aggieland to become the head coach at A&M.
At least this was written farther down the page:
"South Florida: ESPN is confirming WDAE's report that Western Kentucky head coach Willie Taggart will be the new head coach at South Florida."
I guess Snyder's interview with USF didn't go very well. Good news for us.

Interesting. There have been a lot of rumors that he never liked it out there, tho. Think he was about to have to hire his 6th coordinator in 3 years once Brown leaves; probably didn't see much chance of success in his 4th year and knew he'd be fired next season

The Tech job is essentially a revolving door. That job will be open in a couple of years after we win a NC, at that point KK will be able to name what he wants essentially wherever he wants, especially TT.
Your will to win will define you tomorrow.
