Just curious if Sumlin would consider leaving a scholarship open to see how the kicking competition plays out.
I am sure he wouldn't mind a couple open spots for some hard working walk-on's if there's room, but can't promise anything for next year when we will need every one of them.
With the way schollies work now why not offer a one year to a kid just to help him out I mean u done lose anything by doing that right?
Unless he is considering some mid-terms that would get rolled back into the '13 class.
Save it for december
Even if he had to count them against the 25 limit, he still has 2 available. We used to do this all the time if we had extra scholarships available after signing. KS can give $ to a senior who is a walk-on for his last season, or he can give it to any walk-on regardless of year, and stipulate that it is for only one year if he wants to offer it out next year.
I was really just wondering if anyone thought he may be keeping one in his pocket specifically for the walk-on kicker. I think Bertolet will get things straightened out and be very successful, but with some direct competition and an open schollie, it may give him a little more push.
It will count against the initial counters if we give a scholarhip to a walk on who hasn't been on campus at least two years. Thats why it's usually a SR.
