JFF. I keep hearing that he can't do this and can't do that and he keeps doing it. He's been special. We'll be in a lot of games because of him, and hopefully win.
Malena. Can't play in the SEC. Bullshit. He has balls. He's one of my favorite players we have on offense.
Thomas Johnson/Sabian Holmes. We won't miss Swope and EZ next year. These two are explosive and sudden.
Steven Terrell. How about this young man Ags? Steven Campbell, Steven Campbell, Steven Campbell. I'd trade Campbell for another Terrell.
Points allowed. Defense stood up strong in the red zone and forced turnovers.
Imart. Here me out Ags. This man was called out this week. He was called a bitcher, moaner, and whiner. He responded. He silenced his critics.
Tackling. It's getting tiring Ags. We would have shut the piglets out if we make 5 more tackles.
The weather. Glad to see we could overcome.
Dustin Harris. He makes a DA play at least once per game. You don't scoop and score in a crown of people, you do it in the open field. He probably learned this in junior high.
Pressure on Wilson. Did we sack him once? He did a good job of getting the ball out early, but it just didn't seem like we got a lot of pressure on him.
Kicking game. I'm scared Ags. I'm gonna have nightmares tonight about Bertolet missing from 40 and us losing to LSU by 2. He's a freshman; Bullock struggled early in his career. Bullock wasn't the #2 K coming out of HS. Get better Bertolet. Get better.
Yards allowed. It was a track meet out there guys. Luckily Arkansas found the endzone about as frequently as Ketch finds his balls. Glad the defense could get some turnovers but we gave up way too many yards.
Offense inside the 10. This needs to be fixed fast. We score 70 if we don't have issues inside the 10. Play calling was atrocious inside the 10.
Win we shall, yes we can, yes we will.
kicker ratings are always bullshit
A little nitpicky. How come no one is bitching at Otis Jacobs for trying to make a play to help his team. Harris saw a 70 yard td and he went for. If he would have fallen on it people would have bitched that he wasn't aggressive/could have scored. Hard to complain about a trouncing in league play, but I understand and appreciate this segment you do on Sundays.
Just because u don't have sacks doesn't mean he wasn't pressured. He was put on his ass and hurried many a throw
Your logic is boggling my mind
Nobody is bitching about Jacobs because he actually made the play.
While I agree yards allowed was not great, i think a consequence of this offense will be the number of possessions the opponent gets...we aren't gonna run clock...keep the bend don't break and force some turnovers and yards allowed wont matter much
Donnie Baggs was flying around.
...who the heck seriously knows except God, and Sumlin. ~ Aggiemom6
Randy Bullock was a top 5 kicker prospect coming out of HS just like Bertolet.
WR caught everything close to them. I don't remember a single drop.
Nemo Hicks. One handed catch. Breaking tackles fighting for yards. Pushing EZ ahead for an extra 7 yards. When he was out there he played great.
Downfield blocking. Ben Malena bulldozing people on the long JFF run. WRs with some great blocking too when needed. Swope on the Malena TD pass had a beautiful block.
Passing in the middle of the field. Swope, Nemo, TJ, Evans all had big plays over the middle of the field.
Baggs and Matthews both played well when they were out there and got a lot of PT.
Julian Obioha. He's not bad he's just not doing anything. In the last 3 games he has a grand total of 2 tackles. Those three teams have combined for about 250 snaps against us. Other teams are going to continue giving more attention to Damontre and we really need to have to generate some pressure and get more production from the other side. Stansbury has outplayed Julien the last 3 games. I might even consider getting Robinson some snaps at SDE too and use him as kind of a swing guy on the DL.
WR's catching everthing in the rain with a slick ball. Well done lads.
Johnny football. He's the guy you used to play smear the queer against who just juked everyone trying to tackle him. The guy can just make plays and it's going to be a fun watching this guy grow.
Front 7. These guys as a unit are playing well. We need to stay healthy here, but great job.
Dustin Harris. C'MON Man. Just fall on the rock.
KKingsbury's play calling on 3rd and 1 throwing deep routes at least twice. Was beating my head against the wall. Line up Cmike and get the first down then start throwing it again. This air raid offense bugs me.
Yes we gave up 500 +/- yards but also held Arkansas on 4 - 4th downs. Looking at the other games on Saturday, Texas gave up 750+ yards to Okie State and we all saw what Baylor hung on West Virginia. Bottom line is our defense made stops/ints when we needed to. We all knew Wilson was going to get his yards.
Not a regular contributer (lurker and a poor) but I had to say something because it really irks me when people say the above.
I can't vouch for both 3rd and short calls, but one of the plays was clearly not KK's fault. We lined up with a RB in the backfield and Arky crowded the box. They had a single safety high and were trusting their (very inexperienced) corners with one on one coverage on the outside. JFF saw this, checked out of the called play, and took a shot downfield (I believe to Thomas Johnson). He overthrew his (open) receiver by a step. If it was a slightly better throw, it's a touchdown and you're here saying KK is a genius. Either way, KK had nothing to do with it. It was an experienced read by a freshman QB (and that should make you VERY excited), but the execution was lacking (which can be fixed with practice).

Tony Hurd's coverage was ugly.
SEC SEC SEC!!!
EZ had a drop iirc and Obioha is always in the backfield
But keep on trying
Obioha and stansbury at being effective, keeping their assignments well and always in pursuit from what I saw, stats don't mattered its allowing the linebackers to make plays
sorry man but Obioha wasn't disruptive at all. "Always in the backfield" is technically correct though. I just went back and watched the video boxscore and watched every Ark run play and every pass through 3 quarters.
Passing plays: JO literally did not get within 2-3 yards of Wilson on one pass play through the first 3 quarters. He didn't force Wilson to hurry up or get rid of the ball early on one single pass and did not force him to move in the pocket one single play the entire time.
Running plays: this is where you are correct. He was in the backfield every play. He ran upfield into the backfield and out of the play every time. They ran the majority of their runs right passed him and every time he was 3 yards upfield and had no idea they just ran by him. The tackle just turns him outside and he puts his head down and runs upfield. He touched Knile Davis with 1 hand in the backfield on one play. That was literally the only time he semi disrupted a running play. His lone tackle in the last two games was 20 yards downfield on Davis which does show good hustle. He's always hustling once he figures out what is going on.
With Obioha it isn't an effort thing or athleticism and that's why I didn't list it as bad but 'needs work' He has a lot of talent and is gonna be very good. He just needs to work on recognition so he's not running out of the play every time. That's to be expected of a true freshman though.
After going back and rewatching it, Stansbury actually looked very solid. 3-4 times he got good pressure on Wilson and forced him out of the pocket or forced him to make bad throws. He also did a very good job of holding his ground in the running game and made a couple of nice plays there. Stansbury and Obioha were subbing pretty frequently so Stansbury wasn't just playing mop up time. Overall our SDE play is solid and should continue to get better as Obioha gets more of the mental stuff down and recognizes plays quicker.
btw, this Video Boxscore thing on the SEC website is awesome if you haven't seen it. Just click on one of the stats and it will show you video of every play that contributed to those stats during the game...
Didn't sack Wilson much (if at all) but we beat the hell outa the guy! He got hit a lot. D lineman were holding their gaps for the play action, as told to do, and then coming. When we started bringing guys in the second half, Wilson got the ball out, but did zero damage and took some big licks because of it.
Yes, we were not sacking WIlson, but we did just as much damage hitting him.
Exactly, wilson got his ass kicked out there after he released the ball, especially on that second interception he threw
I'd rather have two interceptions than two sacks.
