We got our arses beat last night. Nonetheless, look forward to playing ya'll this weekend. Glad A&M is in the SEC. Hope yall beat the hell out of Texas in a bowl this year.
BTW. . . We are wearing our "snow white" unis this weekend. Think yall will actually be in home uniforms
happy to be here!
yea I think it's "Snow Whites vs. Maroon Outs" to pay homage to the Snow Bowl in Shreveport.

That game had all kinds of badassery.
Love to see us in maroon on the road too.
Sorry, but that's a really random bowl to make a big deal out of with special uniforms.

Why? Sec west foe excited to play us. seems like a great idea.
I mean it is cool that they are excited to play us, but celebrating an Independence Bowl victory?
Whatever brings excitement in I guess, but just seems really random.
Did you see the bowl, Carson? That was one of the best bowl games in history -- no matter what the bowl. Just an incredible game to watch and probably my favorite ever for a game we lost. Blah.
Snow storm...Jamar Toombs...huge MSU comeback...RC vs Jackie. Seriously, it was a big, big deal back then.
And I don't think they're celebrating the victory. They're celebrating one of the great bowl spectacles in the the last 20 years. It was awesome.
"Snow Bowl" on New Year's Eve 2000. Texas A&M vs. Mississippi State
Wasn't that bowl game the last time we played them? If that's the case. I like the idea. Better way to welcome us than 1400 people in the stands by halftime like auburn did to us.
Ha. Sorry, it appears we accidentally went VIP. Looking forward to the game.
Not saying it wasn't a cool game. Trust me, I definitely get why it was a big game.
Still, it was the independence bowl... 12 years ago.
I really don't have a problem with them doing it, and I guess I see why they are doing it in trying to bring more publicity and excitement for the game. But it just seems dumb to me.
Then again, this is also the school that is trying to set up a "Big time game" with Oklahoma State in Reliant every year.
When you are Miss State you have to do whatever you can to create some hype I guess.
God forbid anyone actually be somewhat excited for playing us
this is the SEC Carson, get used to this kind of stuff, it's not always about it having to be a conference championship or the freakin Sugar Bowl or something
It's freakin awesome on so many levels
you're disgusting me on this thread Carson
you sound like a Big12 sip right now
how many complaints did we have of the "dullness" of Ames, IA or Manhattan, this kind of stuff seperates the league beyond just W's & L's
take the f***ing compliment, show appreciation & shut up
I don't take it as a celebration or taunting. Just remembering a great bowl game. I like that they're turning up the heat on a conference game.
Haha chill dude. Said I don't have a problem with it, just seems weird.
Also, this if you disagree with me then you are Big XII thing is getting old. Formulate arguments.
Having all white uniforms does not "separate" the SEC from the Big XII. I recall Texas Tech having plenty of black outs in the Big XII. If celebrating Independence bowl games (even very exciting ones) from 12 years ago is what you think makes the SEC the SEC, then I think you are very mistaken.
Look, I am glad they are excited to play us. I am excited to play them. It is a battle of two top 20 teams for legitimate bowl implications. I am jacked for this game for that reason. Not celebrating an indepenence bowl from 12 years ago. I would argue that is much more "SEC".

lol... Yeah your post is the only one i can read. Oh well.
What bout mine
Actually, the more I think about this, the more it bothers me.
I didn't want to come to the SEC just so we play in cool, different places (although I do love it). I didn't want to come to the SEC because no one liked us in the Big XII and we "fit" better in the SEC.
I wanted us to come to the SEC because that is where the best football is played and where you play important crucial games for national implications on a weekly basis. Not needing gimmicks to draw attention to games. People tuning into games because they want to see great football.
Maybe that is just me though.

Lock the thread. Tired of it.
Thread should be open, and Carson, I gotta agree with everyone else here. Who cares? That game was pretty epic.

Yes sir. I do now. Guess the VIP was taken off.
And yes, i think this is the first time we have played you since then. And yes, we are celebrating that bowl with the unis. #1) it was a badazz game regardless of it being an insignificant bowl game. #2) us old dudes might not care; but, 18 to 22 year old kids think the multiple and creative uniforms are cool. The players and recruits get all jacked up about it.
I think it has become a much bigger deal than I intended to make.
I am not doubting that it was an epic game. Just seems weird to have a game dedicated to a game from over a decade ago.
What got me going is the insinuation that because I am not geeked about Miss State wearing all white uni's, I am "Big XII". Whatever that means.
Which then brought me to what I think is a better question in why people want to be in the SEC. I think there are a lot of people who are just excited to be here for the scenery. I think that is dumb for obvious reasons.
Carson must have graduated. He's gone Tolliver on us.
