Assuming we land Manning, Mitchell, RSJ, Miles, Jucos, Savage, etc.
The numbers just don't add up to 25 "spring" signees.
LSU and Les Miles have done this before and now I'm sure Sumlin is going to end up with the same issue (which is not necessarily and bad thing).
Who gets the ax on the commit list?
Taylor / Aubrey? Thoughts?

One of the QBs, Ed Williams, V Davis, Sezar
Win we shall, yes we can, yes we will.
There are 3 commits that are risks to qualify (Griffin, Davis, Huggins). Wade, Points, Sezer, Chevis, and the Jucos are December grads and count toward the last class. That leaves 20 players for Feb. signing day if all 3 grad risks don't make it in. We most likely land 2 or 3 of the 5 high school players you named. It is doubtful we land all 5. I doubt anyone gets trap-doored.
Ed Williams isn't going anywhere. He's all ag and good enough to play.
USMC- Breaking shit since 1775
I think you mean "loose"
Sezer is coming in early
We have some great commits, we took a small class last year. There's room!!.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't we still under Big 12 rules for numbers through the 2013 signing class. Have I dreamed this?
I do not think we are which makes it a different ball game. How many did we sign last year and I thought there was a clause that if you did not use all of your scholarships you could add up to 3 more people.
Also, doesn't spring enrollment change something as well???
somebody call a lawyer for the nc2a
You're right. We can sign more than 25 this class.
Are you kidding? I could hear that arrow a mile away.
I do not think we signed all we could last year. I believe we can add up to 3 ( no more) over 25 because of that. Also, early enrollment changes some factors for some of the student athelets and 2 of them may actually wind up playing baseball as well.
but is 3 the limit on carry over or is there a limit and what about dual sports guys. ( 2 of them are tremendous baseball players)
There is no 3 rollback rule. It's as many as you can take. We'll run into 85 issues before 25 issues.
The SEC limit is the same as the NCAA unless they are counted back by coming in early. (JAN) The rule on total in the SEC for 2013 was 28, but part of our entrance included a waiver of that rule to allow us to sign whatever number we could. We can go all the way to 35 players by counting players against previous classes. Remember we had early enrollees last year who were able to go against 2011.
Listen to this good Ag
so jucos can actually go back 2+yrs and early admits on last year plus this years sign on up to an active team total ( active players next fall) of 85.

No. Those that enrolled early from the 2012 class, Matt Davis, otis Jacobs, and Kenneth Marshall, count towards 2011. That means the 2012 class actually only had 16 counting for it. Meaning we can't take up to 9 guys and stay under the 25. Now somewhere I read 8, meaning maybe one of those guys counted towards 2012. Either way, we have 8-9 spots left for early enrollees to count towards 2012.
That, plus 25 this year, equals 33-34 total.
Right now we have 29 total, but 2-3 are likely to be gone because of grade risks. Let's say we have 27, that means we have about 6 spots left, assuming taking 33 can stay under the 85 limit.
As for your op, if we did cut someone loose, it would be extremely disrespectful and id lose a lot of respect for Taylor if he mentioned a current commit by name that might be cut lose. Very unprofessional.
Itaggs, where do you get the 28 rule? I think that might have been a previous rule, but I dont see it written anywhere under the new rules. Pretty sure it's a myth. In other words, even a few years from now we can take 30 if we only take 20 the year before. Or theoretically 50 if we don't take any in a year. I don't think there's a max you can enroll early and count towards a previous class, just how much room you have in that class. That would make the most sense under the new rules.
That's probably why Taylor has stayed off this thread and all he ever says on the topic is "Don't worry. The staff has this figured out."
I don't like the idea of cutting anyone loose. Alexander and one of savage or Mitchell are the only guys I would think about dropping someone for.
that being said. I think you will see a decent amount of attrition with current players who really don't have a future with the program.
I'm worried the sips want Hill..
So, the want a lot of the players we have in this class.
You know what that means?
Not a whole lot.
On the number we can take, starting next year it will be 25 plus up to three that count back. This year the best guesstimate is around the low o mid 30s.
The big question is what will be the penalty for taking too many players. If its monetary, it would be worth it for some of these players.
I don't see Stewart coming to A&M. From what I have read, he is a top 10 pick in the MLB Draft. He would be turning down Millions to play for us.
He wants the college experience, to play football & baseball at A&M, & graduate. At least that's what TScoop reported a month or 2 ago. At least that's the way I remember the report.
