All I can say is wow. Biggest mistake the pentagon will ever make. Watch the standards start to be watered down from this day forward. Our military will never ever be the same..
Not that I am a proponent of women in combat, but they have been in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan for the last 10 years. There are no "front lines" anymore. The fight is everywhere.
yeah I guess we are just making this "official". To be honest, the standards are aleady shit and there are plenty of females in the Army that I would fight with vs some of the males. I can only speak about the Army.

Women are physically inferior to men, Fact! Mentally they are weaker as well because their emotions get the best of them far more than men. I would assume the fight or flight response is directly linked to testosterone. As soon as the bullets start flying they'll curl up into a little ball and the men will have to take care of them. Lots of brave men are going to get shot in the back taking care of women.
Well your experience in combat was a little different then mine. I saw plenty of females take care of themselves just fine when shit got real. I also saw some that didn't handle it so well and were a liability, as well as men. This is just my opinion as was your little rant.
It's not the fact that they can't do well as much as its gonna get more soldiers hurt. If there is a male that is is shot in the leg and is bleeding out and a female that was just shot in the foot on the ground by each other the male soldier will normally go for the female even though her injury isn't that bad. Which will then lead to the soldier shot in the leg to bleed out.
As a civilian I'm not picky who wants to defend my ass against the crazies of the world
I didn't mean for it to sound like a rant, I've probably had too much coffee today. I've never been in combat. I'm not an above average athlete or anything like that, I'm an average size guy. I've never met a woman who could best me physically. I'm sure that some female collegiate athletes and definitely WNBA players, Olympians, etc. could. However that's a very small percentage and none of them are as good as their male counterpart.
Meg Ryan won the moh, this is not new.
Yes women can, will, and do fight their asses off. Many better than men, in a firefight it has much more to do with the mind and ability to turn that fear in to quick, decisive, effective action. I want to know what kind of sand the person next to me has, I want to know if that person has the mental make-up to act when the shit hits. It is an individual thing, not a gender thing. Yes a woman is going to lose most of the time in a CQC situation, that does not mean they can not survive in combat.
That said, I would still rather not be in a combat zone with women but that's has more to do with my conservative values, not their abilities.
nope, havent seen it and still waiting for it. women do not belong in a combat MOS PERIOD. my opinion as well as my wife's. not only are they generally a total wreck during the process but the lesser trained men add to the problem. the drop all tactics and start doing retarded crap in order to protect a woman instead of what they should be doing. you want women in combat? fine. make it an all female unit. so how much shit they get done. everyone one i have seen lacks the killer instinct. no offense to any women on here you dont belong there and everytime i see you there it ruins my day. and "going" to afghanistan or Iraq is Far from going to combat. i dont care what your little patch says. boy scouts get patches too.
USMC- Breaking shit since 1775
SEC SEC SEC!!!
I say this with all due respect, but your wrong. Women do not have the physical capabilities that men have. You are going to tell me that a woman can pull or carry at 200lb soldier in kit once they are wounded? There is no way! Women simply don't have the physiological capabilities to do so man.
I'm not anti female one bit, well maybe I am... But I believe that women have their place in the military and that's it's not in direct combat. I have been deployed four times with a special operation unit. And there is literally NO way that a women can do the things a man can. Shit, about 96 percent of them can't do a single pull up. You expect them to be able to drag someones body? You expect them to be able to walk 10 miles in full kit? Women simply aren't built for combat like men are. It's science.
Women belong on the supply routes and behind the desk. I'm sorry...
Maybe I did not communicate my thoughts well.
No, most women cannot do the same physical things most men can do.
A woman can stand next to you and kill just as effectively as a man. That is all I am saying but again, I do not think women should be forward deployed in an active combat, recon or spec ops unit.
what about the situations where multiple women soldiers are taken as POWs? Don't you think the enemy will do vial things to those women? Torture, rape, etc..... that will not go over well with America one bit.
Who keeps on down voting me?? It's hurting my feelings :( if you can't handle the truth run off to another thread about movies or tv shows on the main board.
this is typical liberal progressive thing to do
Nah, let's focus on pretending to advocate tolerance, equality and peace
This will work out just fine now that the military is a more 'accepting' institution. I'll bet they are forming a kick-ass tranny special forces unit right now. We can all be inspired as the MSM trips over themselves embellishing the heroism of the US special force tranny brigade.
What would a muslem jihaadist do to a captured American woman that they wouldn't do to a man? What about N. Koreans or Chinese?
The only way this will work in the infantry is with separate units.
I would say keep the units as they are BUT maintain the same standards. If the pentagon decides to lower the standards then yes to separate units.
You and I both know there is more to it than that.
