Sorry but I've gotta bring this up. How can they be ranked #2? One of their kids just got downgraded and right now they stand with FIVE 4*'s and THREE 3*'s?
Actually when Hampton got downgraded from a 4* to a 3* their overall points dropped approx 2 overall point (From 599 to 597). Granted I don't mean to rattle the conspiracy theorist yet kinda makes you scratch your head (yet I'm sure there is an explanation).
Anyone (besides the people that say "Why do we care")? Oh, if anyone wonders why we should care = because we are the other flagship university in the state. They have the majority of the glory during the last decade and the worse they are in every aspect is better for us. So, we all should love seeing TAMU at #1 and tu at #20 (instead of #2). Sorry for the small rant yet i'm sure it's coming...
On a side note i'm not sure how the Fullback kid they have committed is ranked where he is (another question)...
GerBear has the answer but he's probably too busy jerking the horns off to address this.
Win we shall, yes we can, yes we will.
Hampton is dropping like a rock. Safety sized DE who people are trying to project to LB. He's a slightly better Demaurrier Thompson.
The team rankings are automatically calculated, not like anyone can actually rig those numbers. You could argue with the individual player ratings, but the team ranking is just a formula based on tgat.

So a kid gets downgraded (which they have had a couple) and they lose 2 overall points?
Aubs - like I said in my original post, i'm sure there is a reason for it (and it was part of the formula) yet just doesn't make sense they lose 2 overall points when one of their guys go from a 4* to a 3* and they only drop 2 overall points. Again, i'm cool my man yet still a head scratcher... Seems like LSU should be #2 with the recent pick ups they have gotten... JMO
have you actually looked at the teams below them? Who would be ranked higher? LSU is the closest but 3 of their 4 star guys are 247 3 stars and very low composit 4 stars and they have a no star commit. Frankly nobody is close to our class right now.
Trust in Cobra
“Honestly [tu's offer] doesn’t really matter though because I won’t go there. I won’t even visit." “I want to play big time ball in the SEC"
Why do we care?
I also think you're looking too much at the stars instead of the rating value. One point could be difference between 3 and 4 star which would easily explain that.
Right now you can't put too much stock in the team rankings. Texas has the second-most commits to A&M. That's why they're 1-2 in the ranks. There is a cap on the number of players that count towards the rankings (I'm not positive what it is) and once teams start reaching that, they will be more meaningful.

Makes some sense yet with LSU sitting with ONE 5* and SIX 4*'s (with 8 commits) and ranked #3 made me ask...
It's a wait and see thing. I get it now and shouldn't care about the sips anyway...
Can you seriously not process it's a product of numbers at this point?
If it was Clemson would you have made this post?
I have my doubts.
But hey, let's talk about auto-generated computer numbers as/bc they relate to UT..
the better question is:
when are Watts, Washington, and the Tank going to be upgraded to 4*
Only concerned with LSU at this point. We are gonna get our 25, they are gonna get they're 25. They will probably get Adams and a few other good ones. We will be recruiting like they had been for the last 10 years.
