This isn't every internet rival in America.

This is his alma mater's message board. If there's any place he should be able to post, it should be here.

well who says his son's honor isn't equally important on the ou board?

Do you care at all what I think about you?

Do you care at all what fellow Aggies think about you?

    There's your answer.

Decisions lead to consequences. Gary knew (or if he didn't he should've) that if Jake chose texas, it would piss a lot of Aggies off. If he thinks it's more important that his Aggie friends think he's cool, he should've taken a different path. If he thinks it's more important that his son is happy with his choice (which is obviously more important to him), then he will let his son make his own decision. A consequence of doing what he saw to be the right thing, is that he will be bashed for it. That's just the way things go. Absolutely no reason to come over here and brag about his son being the top receiver. If he were over here talking about our shot with Chevis, it'd be a whole different story

  • If another poster, from any site, is over here talking about how Jameil Showers is progressing or what the chances of us landing justin manning are, chances are he's not going to get bashed. If a poster is over here talking about how any of their players are better than any of our players, or how their recruiting class is blowing ours out of the water, it's going to end in a hate fest

  • I'm not gonna bash Fieldhouse, hell I don't even know him...I was just making an observation about defending his son against the indefensible (internet message boards).

His kid is a good player, to discount that is just blindly or purposely being ignorant

A&M will be fine at WR...and Fieldhouse will be fine for being a good dad and supporting his son

Really no sense to continue this line of attack imho

  • I'm not defending fieldhouse, but didn't he respond to Daddy's assertion that his son would get pushed to no. 3 if certain players were moved to flex TE? This is a really dumb thing for us to care about. He's not playing here. He's a good player and his pops happened to be on here long before his son committed anywhere. I know my old man would be all over anybody trashing me on a board from his alma mater. Even if it's expected I honestly think it doesn't matter.

This will be my last post on the topic, but the big issue at hand here is still being completely overlooked.

Gary Oliver is a villain to y'all because his son is going to UT. Period. He's been bashed on this board for months. It's not like the guy started a "HAHAHA JAKE'S GOING TO BE A LONGHORN!!!! CHECK OUT HOW GOOD HE IS!! SUCKS TO BE Y'ALL!!!" thread.

He saw a post on a board he is a member of (long before his son chose UT, btw) bashing his son. He reacted like many fathers would, I imagine. It's not like he's trying to get validation on an Alabama board. He is and has been a member of this board, the one for the school he attended, who has all of a sudden gone from a beloved Aggie family member to enemy no. 1. His behavior is completely understandable. As for you guys, that is not healthy or normal behavior for a fanbase, no matter how much your "redass" believes it so.

Bottom line, I could care less where the sons of Roy Williams, Jordan Shipley, Quan Cosby, etc. go in 15-20 years. They were kickass Longhorns, and I expect that they will be good enough fathers to make sure their sons feel comfortable choosing any school they want. That includes Texas A&M.

  • Whatever you say chuckie. It's easy to take the high road when it's all in theory. You're missing my entire point too. Gary knew he would be bashed for this choice. That's just how it is. It's a consequence. If he wants to post here he should just ignore those comments and discuss Aggie football like the Aggie football fan he supposedly is. I have no problem discussing Aggie football with him. I don't want to hear about his son because his son is not an Aggie. If I wanted to hear about him I would get a sub to ya'lls site (which good thing I don't because I'm banned for life)

  • I step away from Gigem247 for a week and look what happens.

Where has this thread been all my life?
