Tell you what OP, you want heat, I'll bite. You didn't "boss-hog" our AD. You overpayed for a man who would of come your way for less than what you payed him. You're sitting right where he wants to retire, so you offer him a little more cash and he's yours regardless. Instead, your university decides they want to throw all the cards on the table, and waste a few hundred thousand to score someone who can easily be replaced. Do I hate losing him? Sure. He did a good job while here, but let's be realistic, an AD position has many highly rated candidates waiting to fill the position. Good for you guys for wasting some money. As far as us being "down another rung in the SEC", this shows your stupidity. Who are you kidding besides yourself? You went 7-6 last year in the Big 12, which is far from impressive, and only broke .500 because you played an unranked Northwestern team in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. By the way, Northwestern was 51st in the nation in scoring offense, and you only put up 5 above what they allow on average. Heck of a defensive game there, with them being ranked 66th in the nation, you guys ranked 70th. We went 11-2 in the strongest conference in the nation, with a 30-13 win over a RANKED Nebraska team. Get a grip dude, you're no "cross-division rival". You're basically another Ole Miss that we get to piss on and get some 3rd stringers practice. Go ahead, pull your history card out and say we haven't been relevant until the past few years. The reality of the situation is we are better than you now, and that's all that matters.
